Incredible fusion of Shakespeare and Western
lm-8084929 December 2018
As a lifelong fan of both the works of William Shakespeare and the classic cowboy movies (especially Sergio Leone's Man With No Name trilogy) I was greatly surprised by this movie. Rodeo and Juliet captured the wit and emotion of Shakespeare while obtaining an authentic Western tension and atmosphere. At moments the low budget does show, but the acting and direction more than make up for it. Interested to see what this group does next.

Lovely adaptation

Rodeo and Juliet was both beautiful and brutal, hilarious and sobering. One of the greatest amateur films I have seen in quite some time. This movie should serve as proof to others that some great cinema can be created without the multi-million dollar budgets of most films today. Exceptional!

Beautiful Masterpiece

One of the best films of 2015! I thought it beautifully captured the spirit in which William Shakespeare intended for his play to have, however it topped it as the western setting given to the movie made this film that much more meaningful in this political climate in America. Also an outstanding performance by the cowboy chief and you can already write in Charlie Mathison for best supporting actor at the Oscars this year.

This movie is incredibly well directed, Nicky Roth is to die for! Perfect for any kind of mood and honestly just so well done.

Cast and crew to keep an eye on!

Warning: Spoilers
Exceptional film overall, but all the more surprising when considering it was created by first time actors and a first time director! While I am familiar with the plot of Romeo and Juliet (who isn't?) this movie was able to follow the same story beats while expertly adapting them into a believable western setting. The action is enthralling and entertaining, and I would be surprised to witness a single dry eye after watching that final tragic scene. Very very well done!

Charming Rendition of a Classic
wallacealgechild29 December 2018
What Rodeo and Juliet lacked in budget and scale, it made up for with its incredible humor and heart. Strong directorial debut, and a great introduction to many up-and-coming stars. People need to keep an eye on Nicky Roth, as well as the rest of the supporting cast who brought life and individuality to their (in many cases, multiple) characters. Can't wait to see more from this crew!
