Series ends with a lot of fun, but not a lot of quality

2019's "New Tale: The Demon of Elm Street" (from less than five months ago) is an American English-language live action short film from 2019 with a pretty long title. It runs for slightly under 11 minutes and was written and directed by Chris R. Notarile based on Wes Craven's characters. Now everybody with an interest in modern horror movies has probably come across Notarile on at least one occasion because he is making these fairly good fan movies for years now and many many people have seen them. This also has to do with lead actor Roberto Lombardi, who is perhaps the best thing about these. The one we got here is the 6th and probably final installment of the "Krueger: Tales from Elm Street" series and it ends with poking a lot of fun rather than coming up with a real quality piece this time. It is alright. I can see the guys had a lot of fun shooting and also the fans will love it. I see it as a bit of an epilogue rather. Lombardi actually plays himself here preparing for a new Notarile movie and so Notarile plays himself as well. But of course the horror component does not come too short as apparently all these turns as horror characters for Lombardi have left their impact on him and in a dream he meets his horror alter ego Freddy Krueger at the end (also played by him), so this film is really more about actors struggles you could say, not 100% the supernatural horror film component this time. Partially it is working, partially not so much. Overall it is a bit tough to rate this film because it seems to be as dedication and ambition to create something meaningful have not been there like in previous outcomes I'd say. This is one for the fans. Those can watch. Everybody else can skip and they won't be missing much and this film will not turn them into fans anyway, even if I liked how it did not take itself seriously at all. Actually you don't even need a recommendation because it would be pretty stupid to watch without having een any of the other installments. I still give it a thumbs-down though. Not recommended. I am still curious what other projects Notarile and Lombardi will be working next now that this franchise is probably over.

Robert's character x Roberto

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting idea, but, the weakest on the series. Here we got to see an idea that was deleted from Wes Craven's New Nightmare: Freddy x Robert Englund (on the short, renamed Roberto). And the ending frames show Freddy in the real world.. can't wait to see what's coming next.

Really cool take

Dig the meta "New Nightmare" aspect, good watch, Diandra never fails as Nancy, more importantly, she's never failed at any role. She is incredibly believable. Always liked Roberto, thought he was good, until I seen this particular role, he's great here. Stop reading and go binge watch the entire series
