I'm not afraid to say it, John Mulaney's SNL episode is the best of s44. The cold open was normal, but the host's monologue (a taste of Mulaney's stand-up) was perfectly timed, just like the rest of the episode. The quality of writing called back to the era of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Andy Samberg; the more recent golden era of SNL. Props to John Mulaney, the cast and crew, and especially Pete Davidson, who proved he was back at full strength this week.

(Last little thing: Kate McKinnon up until recently has been a stone cold performer, which has been great, but it's honestly heartwarming to see her break sometimes. It makes me laugh so much!)

Hands down the best episode of the season so far. I could tell that John wrote/helped write the entire episode. I hope he continues to host each season from here on out. The new JT??

Best Episode of Season 44

John Mulaney is a genius. They should bring him back as a writer and a cast member. He would also be great on Weekend Update - although Michael Che and Colin Jost are excellent and have great chemistry together. Just replace Pete Davidson with John Mulaney and the show is drastically improved.

Stand-out episode

This was the best episode in a very long time - every single sketch hit the mark, so much so that I made my first ever review of an SNL episode. Consistency matters... I love SNL but almost every time there's 2-3 funny skits and a bunch of WTF? :) John Mulaney needs to come back to the show!

Bar none, BEST episode of the season if not the BEST episode in SNL's history! John Mulaney was flipping amazing! From the opening monologue which had me rolling on the floor to the very last skit, there was. It a dull moment...

Except for Thomas Rhett... could have done without that garbage.

By far, the best episode in season 44. John Mulaney should stay for good in SNL, this episode had the funniest sketches in a very long time. Kate McKinnon was also very good!
