I went to watch the film to see how Brazilian cinema is trying to make commercial films for a large audience. The plot is obvious, set in the middle class of São Paulo: suspicions of betrayal, robberies, assassination attempts, etc. I held firm with the intention of seeing what our authors think, whether it's a successful commercial film. There were many flaws in the storytelling, but I overlooked them, after all my purpose was to evaluate whether the film served the average Brazilian audience. It became more and more difficult due to the obviousness of the plot, until one of the men decided to consult a "Pai de santo" to bring his wife back home. The said "Pai de santo" then summons two "spirits" to haunt his wife. It was too much. Nobody can stand...

Argentines use this expression when they want to say that something or a situation is silly. My reaction to this film was this: How silly! From something very real: poisoning and environmental pollution by pesticides, a tangle is built with spirits, witches, transport of souls and many other nonsense. Something told me to stop watching the movie in the first half hour, but curiosity made me continue watching. What a waste of time! Don't make the same mistake I did. If you read this comment before seeing the movie, run away! The idea of mixing a real problem (environmental pollution) with nonsense about spiritism, lost souls and other "tonterias" results in a silly film. Beautiful locations, good performances, an efficient decoupage are of no use if the story being told is nonsense. Run!

Religion poisons everything. Added to retrograde traditions, it impedes the free development of people. The film is a libel against slavery imposed by the reactionary and castrating theocracy. Thousands of young women like Zaira are sacrificed every year, forcibly marrying men they don't love. A tragedy of difficult solution.
Great interpretations and a precise script make Noces an important document against slavery imposed by reactionary religions and traditions.
Cinema, as mass communication, plays an important role in the dissemination of libertarian ideas. More films with this perspective are needed to free young people subjugated by these enslaving traditions.

When a film is not a science fiction, set on another planet, the characters are expected to be Homo Sapiens, and therefore to behave and think as such. This is not the case with this film. The characters' behaviors bear no relation to everything known about human behavior throughout history. Feelings, reasoning, actions, nothing resembles the humans we know. If it was meant to be surreal, it did. Why a cast of this quality accepts making a film without any logic, is a mystery to be elucidated. I got angry at the end of the projection. I've been robbed was the feeling that came over me. Dont waist your time anda attention. Run!

This movie has a great joke. With the book "The Origin of the Family and Private Property" by Engels in his hands, Ricardo Darin's character exclaims: "They need to make a film of this book!". In fact, all the "porteño humor" in the film is very good. The use of "lunfardo", the typical Buenos Aires slang, gives the film a characteristic humor that delights those who, like me, had the pleasure of living in Buenos Aires for a while. The main couple gives a show of interpretation, taking advantage of the excellent dialogues. It's not a classic, it doesn't have the depth of a Bergman, but it entertains and entertains with intelligence and humour. It's worth the ticket!

The synopsis in the Mubi say everything: "spirit", "astral plane" etc. There is no such things... Noe is a "Chanta" as they said is is country of origin. Disguises its lack of subject with kaleidoscopic images to fill the "void" inside his head. Expendable, waste of time, nonsense, pure "mumbo jumbo" from those who have time to waste with silly movies. Avoid this void.

Dont loose your time. The story is unreal, the acting is over, the whole film is confuse. "A turkey, it is said, placed in the center of a circle traced in chalk on the floor, considers itself hopelessly imprisoned by him". This seems to be the metaphor that the film wanted to use - without success, to guide the plot. Definitely Spanish cinema - with a few rare exceptions, it doesn't mesh, The narratives oscillate between verbose, overly dramatic and redundant. Usually there's a lot of talk and little show. This ends up creating a prejudice against this cinematography, enclosing it in a vicious circle from which it will be difficult to escape. Unfortunately.

The film is good, the direction competent, the performances excellent, but to believe that a baby is born with a fishbone in its esophagus is asking a lot of credulity from the spectator. This kind of movie that endorses this kind of irrational belief does humanity a disservice. Ladies and gentlemen: This is a fraud. There are no such "psychic powers".
Here in Brazil, several of these healers have been unmasked, the most famous of them, Zé Arigó did the same type of "spiritual operation" that the character does in the film. This is fraud. And not to show that in the movie is to prove a fraud.

It's not that uncommon for someone who has been hit so hard on the head to be mentally disturbed and believe in myths and "supernatural beings". Dealing with this subject without this understanding, assuming hallucinations and irrational beliefs to be true, is what is a problem.
