Still waiting for the DVD...
29 December 2004
For me too, this Christmas special is one that I remember very fondly. In 1989, I snatched up the 2 CDs I found of the soundtrack recording, giving one to my sister and keeping the other for myself. It's part of my family's Christmas tradition now, and I would love to be able to actually see the show again rather than just remember it as I listen.

It has been noted elsewhere that John Denver made a number of appearances on the Muppet Show, and they did more than one special together. The good rapport between Denver and his fuzzy companions comes through clearly here, in a charming and fun show that is good for all ages.

Titus (1999)

Shakespeare is great despite 20th century nonsense
29 January 2000
William Shakespeare does not disappoint. This adaptation of Titus Andronicus lets Hopkins and Lange shine as Titus and the evil queen of the Goths. In large part, this movie is thrilling and captures the saga of Titus well, with dramatic cinamatography and emotionally moving sequences. However, the director has also interjected bizarre dream-like sequences and 20th century imagery which are confusing and distracting. None-the-less, this is a stunning movie, a tale of astounding tragedy, Roman excess, honor and revenge. With Hopkins and Lange, you will not regret seeing this

Good, but not as good as Star Trek 2 or 8
13 December 1998
Another fun Star Trek movie, to be sure, but wasn't as gripping as some of the previous ST movies, 2 or 8 in particular. Still, it was exciting, full of all the campy, Star Trek humour that you've come to expect. The new Enterprise looks sharp, and they touch on some of the long running themes that ST:TNG fans will enjoy revisiting. In general, a good flick.
