The Matrix (1999)
10/10
Amazing parallel
11 November 1999
The Matrix is an incredible movie and destined to be one of my favorites. The action, acting, story are great but by far, the most amazing aspect is how it parallels that of a Christian walk of life, from realizing what the world really is to dealing with it all and letting others know. From the Matrix being the world as we know, one which is filled with things from worldly obsessions to keeping busy. Both the "Matrix" and the world keep us blinded from the real truth. Neo represents a man who has realized that something is wrong with the world. At first he wants to know what it is, when he realizes it he finds that he doesn't want to believe it. He's been tricked his entire life. The story goes on through his transformation. Other parallels would be Agent Smith-Satan, the tempter (as we all know he does in the movie), Sypher-betrayed everyone as did Judas Iscariot. There is an incredible amount more, it's amazing. 99% of the movie has something to do with the Christian walk and those involved. I suggest next time you watch it to keep your eyes and mind open.

Deep Impact (1998)
6/10
Hollywood and Asteroids collide
6 October 1998
I felt as though this movie was your typical "Hollywood" movie. The first time I watched it it was quite entertaining but once I watched it again I found myself bored and remembered everything that was going to happen. Everything that happened in the movie was too perfect and totally predictable. One of the better disaster movies, but by far not the best.

Armageddon (1998)

A great mix of everything.
6 October 1998
I felt that this was one of the great movies of 1998. It had all the elements that make a movie great. The characters were well developed, the story was great and planned out, good acting, and special effects. I felt as though the special effects didn't make the story but only added to it. Also this was not your 'typical' Bruce Willis action role. He did a great job in this. I felt as though it was one of his best performances and fortunately it was in a great movie.

Only one person I know enjoyed Deep Impact over this once since it had two comets instead of one. We won't count that since he also said that Aliens was dumb and had corny acting.

Aliens (1986)
10/10
This movie is the zenith of sci-fi
6 October 1998
Aliens is the best movie ever made for sci-fi action. For the most part it is the best movie of all time. Cameron used a perfect blend of action, characters, story, plot, special effects, etc. to create this masterpiece. If you haven't seen Aliens then you're missing out.

The movie doesn't lean too heavily on one or the other. For those who don't like sci-fi you can enjoy the action or visa-versa. Those who don't like either can enjoy the story. Or if you're like me you can enjoy them all. Nothing tops this movie. People often say they are making the Alien-killer or whatever. After those movies come out often is heard, "It wasn't as good as Aliens though."

This movie rules.
