Interesting...entertaining...but the Academy won't be calling!!
18 June 2000
Rarely do I feel the need to pay money to see a movie that I am not interested in seeing. I had thought that GONE IN 60 SECONDS looked entertaining and worth a rent, but on the suggestion of a trusted friend and film afficianado, I saw it. I was ENTERTAINED and thoroughly ENJOYED this film, however it was a typical J. Bruckhiemer in which he expects that you will not question what he shows you. I, on the other hand, know and believe what I see. Corvettes don't fly attatched to a plane(loved CONAIR though) and beautiful 1967 Shelby GT's don't jump like that! It had me totally ready to give a 9 vote because so much of it had been believable. The premise is far-fetched, but they were experts so... Anyways, the film made me smile, as do all of his films. The director, Sena, did a fine job with casting and showing off all of these beautiful cars. The plot was as expected, Nick Cage was too sweet as usual, the dialogue was toned down for the PG-13 rating (a smart move in my opinion), and the chase sequences were on par if not better than the greatest we've ever seen(BULLIT, BLUES BROTHERS, RONIN). Overall, another quality entertainment flick, but don't expect the Academy to come calling!

One Crazy Flick!! Worth A second look too!!
9 November 1998
WHOA!! This is one of the most whacked up films I have seen in a long time. Again, Adam Sandler shows his comedic genius. As far as dramatic acting Sandler gets no awards, however for the movie he wrote he was the perfect mama's boy Bobby Boucher. Overall, this movie is a 10 simply because of how simply crazy it was!!
