Adam Sandler

My favourite Adam Sandler's movie. I don't know why, but it is the one where I laughed the most. Maybe because in this movie, the character he acts is not too dumb. The part where he plays "Somebody kill me" is hilarious. And Drew Barrymore is still very cute.

There are good sport sequences. It's funny but a little too stupid. I saw the French version and the voices are poor.

surprising!
16 November 1998
I am very glad having seen this movie at the theater. I'm lucky because I was able to see it before someone tells me the story. I knew it was inspired by Louis 19, a movie "made in Quebec", and I was expecting to something slightly the same (with a budget ten times greater). I was wrong. At the beginning, I was amazed and I understood Truman's situation only after half an hour. What is funny in this movie is the way it ridiculizes TV programs and soap operas. The sequence when Truman meets his father is one of the funniest I have seen in my life

a little deceiving
16 November 1998
Each year, during Christmas vacation, they broadcast a cartoon based on Victor Hugo's novel and I watch it. I cry each time. So, I was expecting a lot of this movie and I was a little deceived. Even if the story is well respected, there's a lack of emotion in it. It didn't trouble my sensible heart and I didn't drop a tear.

good, Carrey craziest than ever
16 November 1998
To be as neutral as possible, I would say that the realisation shows a lack of experience and that it's not the best movie Jim Carrey has made (see Truman Show, The). But the starting idea is extremely original, and this movie will teach a lesson to parents who think they can put their children in front of TV and they don't have to worry about them. I don't think anyone would want to have a child like Chip Douglas! Personally, I liked this movie (I watched it twice during the same night). There are very hot scenes, such as the karaoke and the medieval fight, but the final product is inequal. At last, the soundtrack fits perfectly the movie, particularly Filter's song (Hey man nice shot) during the basketball game.
