Saving Private Ryan (1998)
The horrors of War
My 8 year old step-daughter and I went to see this film. We both thought that it was great, but long winded. The first scene kept us glued to the screen, but after that, the movie lost its edge.
Tom Hanks has done it again! He gets better and better with every movie.
Spice World (1997)
Twice the Girl Power
This is my daughters' favorite movie. They would watch this 24 hour a day if I let them. I think they have it memorized!
This movie is great entertainment for any little girls that are just finding out what it means to be a little girl. The Spice Girls have great voices and have some great dance moves too. This movie has something for everyone. A great show. GO GIRL POWER!!!
Evita (1996)
From an actor's point of view
I have been in the musical "Evita", and I tell you the play is MUCH better. I played several roles (A General, Papal Admiral, Soldier, and one of Evita's lovers). The songs in the movie are not staged well and they are chopped up. Madonna, though, gives an inspired performance as Evita. All of the actors did a splendid job.
If you have a chance, go see the play. You will enjoy it much more.
Corrina, Corrina (1994)
Love has no boundaries
This is a wonderful film with wonderful Christian values. Whoopie Goldberg plays a good woman who is sent to help a family deal with the horrible reality of death. She not only brings love back into the household, but also magic.
This is a great movie for all ages. My kids loved it. They wanted to watch it again and again.
Enjoy!
Newsies (1992)
One of the Greatest musicals ever
I think this movie is great! We watch it at least once a week. The whole family enjoys it.
Big (1988)
Big dreams for a little boy
This movie is one of the best. I can remember being a little boy and wishing I was bigger. You get to do so much more when you are an adult!
This movie teaches us to be careful what you wish for. It just might come true.
A must see on any level (Especially for Tom Hanks fans like me)
The Pirates of Penzance (1983)
Stop, Ladies, Pray!! A Man!!!!
I played Frederic in the play and my wife played Ruth. We enjoyed this movie so much because it was so well staged. The actors are all perfect, especially Angela as Ruth. Who could be better in that role?
Even though they have added songs from other Gilbert and Sullivan plays, this is a wonderful movie. Watch it and enjoy.
Lili (1953)
Lili sings with the puppets
I played Jocquot in the musical "Carnival" on which this movie is based. The musical is much better. The movie only has one song and it is quite short. It also has a strange dream sequence at the end that makes no sense at all.
Take it from me, pass this one up if you can. They need to make a movie of "Carnival".
