Excellent film!
29 November 1999
A wonderful film with a marvelous cast and brilliantly written screenplay. This film superbly captures the anguish of unrequited love and how it transforms its victims into wrong-doers.

Spike's Best Film
4 July 1999
This was Mr. Lee's best film. The performances of Mira Sorvino, Jennnifer Esposito and Adrien Brody were a real treat. There was good character development and a clear and gritty story. However, this film has some flaws that I had hoped that Spike Lee would avoid(One camera shot that introduces a character. Most amateurish and most weird.). Also, there are certain scenes that I wish were cut out of the film, period. I would recommend this film.

Hidden Treasure
28 May 1999
A hidden treasure in a sea of mediocre and formulaic films. The cast is excellent! Great love triangle story. Alec Guinness is wonderful. Kristin Scott-Thomas is a fox!

Predictable with no suspense.
28 January 1999
This film was most predictable. I knew the plot and who was the insider in the murder of the Defense Secretary within 5 minutes of the murder. The only thing I liked about this film was looking at the beautiful actress, Carla Gugino. That is it. A don't see!

Best Film I have seen this year!
25 January 1999
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! Great story, awesome cast(Angelina Jolie should get an Oscar for her multi-layered and superb performance!) and great direction. Along with The Thin Red Line it is one of the best films I have seen since Quiz Show! A must see!

My Take...
24 December 1998
Great movie dealing with obsession, the power of women and fate. Excellent Love triangle between Power, Hayworth and Darnell. What is amazing is, as beautiful as Linda Darnell was, she is blown away by the gorgeous Rita Hayworth. Great writing and acting.

Woody Allen's Comes Out
7 December 1998
Though I did like this movie, I am somewhat perplexed and disappointed in his Woody Allen's latest film "Celebrity." This film, more than any other film in his career, gives us all his sexual fantasies(warts and all), his confusion on how he should live his life and his fear of growing old and dying(Notice at the end of the film, the skywriting that spells out the word "HELP"). The writing was good, Judy Davis, Famke Jamsen gave good performances. Kenneth Brannagh was too much of a caricature of Woody Allen. Visually, Chalize Theron, Famke Jamsen and Winona Ryder were stunning beautiful( especially Ms. Theron). This movie did not break any cinematic ground as far as artistic value. What it did do was reveal sides of Woody Allen's psyche that I would rather not know.

Best film of 1997
7 December 1998
This was a classic Hollywood Movie. It had many different genres blended splendidly together. Excellent acting by Pacino, Theron and a good job from Reeves. Most literate, well directed and written. Was not marketed very well. It is a shame that this movie did not do well at the box office. Well, what do except from people who flock to see "Something About Mary" and "The Waterboy!"
