Peter Pan (1953)
Fun filled movie for the whole family
The first time I ever had the pleasure of watching the Peter Pan story was with the Steven Spielberg production of Hook.
I found the Walt Disney 1953 version of Peter Pan outstanding in every way. Like all of the Disney animated classics I can honestly say when you sit down to watch one you just forget that it is an animated feature that you are viewing and Peter Pan is no exception.
Peter Pan is the story of a boy who refuses to grow up. This production has so much to offer the viewer with the humour, music and action scenes especially with Peter Pan and Hook. But we must not forget Wendy and her two brothers John, Michael and of cause Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys and the magical island in the heavens called Never Land where the story takes place.
So if you like a fun filled action adventure Peter Pan is certainly for you.
Hard Rain (1998)
To sum this up, a good film for all.
I really did not know what to expect with "Hard Rain". Because it was just sheer chance that I saw this. I must say once it started it had me glued to the screen from start to finish. Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater were compelling in their performances. Randy Quaid as the sheriff of this small town gave an outstanding performance in this non stop action knockout thriller. There is so much here I could say about this movie but to make this short I would just like to say I have no hesitation in recommending this to any one who likes their fast-paced action type of film laced with humor along the way, and may I just add that Betty White better known as Rose in the Golden Girls was just great in her performance. To sum this up a good film for all. Because the entire film was made in water due to the story line that the town was supposed to be flooded by intense rain,it made this film very unusual, thus explains the title "Hard Rain."
Lost in Space (1998)
A must see film.
I found Lost in Space a fun movie from start to finish with a superb cast and a fascinating retelling of how the Robinson family were launched into deep space and the events leading up to them becoming lost in space. I would also like to point out that I was pleasantly surprised with the special effects in this timeless masterpiece based on the original idea by Irwin Allen. My only criticisms are: 1. The idea that the story was only supposed to be sixty years in our future, because in reality it should have been more like one hundred and sixty years in the future. 2. I think it would have worked better to see Billy Mumy who was the original Will Robinson, play the adult Will's role in the film. I am sure I don't stand alone with this comment among the serious fans of the original Lost in Space show of the 1960s. With that aside the movie from start to finish was great to see especially with the cameo appearances by June Lockhart, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen and Angela Cartwright, all and all a must.
The Return of Count Yorga (1971)
This is one that really goes for the jugular.
The Count is back in this outstanding sequel to the well known Count Yorga Vampire. As sequels go this is superb in every way, if anything this is more terrifying than its predecessor in some really scary moments in the story. Unlike the first film the make-up on the Count's female harem is truly terrifying to say the least. So now just sit back and enjoy the show if you can but I advise you to leave on the lights.
Count Yorga, Vampire (1970)
The Vampire movie to beat all others.
If you like a good old time fright movie this is certainly it. This is really a fast-paced and convincing vampire tale in every respect. Robert Quarry has the lead role as Count Yorga and believe me he is just perfect for this role. Over the years this film has turned into a cult masterpiece and when you see this you can understand why.
