The Aviator (2004)
What were they thinking?
27 February 2005
After winning the first few Oscars, I began to think finally Martin Scorsese would win his long awaited best director award. It seemed like the perfect ending, after going 0 for 10 with Gangs of New York 2 years ago. wrong!! What were the Academy voters thinking??? I was only happy enough not to see Clint win an acting award. Clint has had his day, time for another legend to have the honor, especially after getting shut out 6 other times, I guess this makes lucky number 7. For the talent he has, and the amazing movies he has made, I shall ask: When will he get his due? How many more classics does he need to make? How many more multiple mediocre winners must there be before he gets his first? Let me know what you think of this outrageous robbery!!!

Super Size Me (2004)
False Movie
1 February 2005
Lets see, where to begin? Let's start with all you blaming fast food for being fat, and calling them evil. It's your choice to eat there. If you are offered "super size" whats stopping you from saying "no thanks"??? Who's holding a gun to your head saying eat it? Don't go saying anything about the advertising either, there are plenty of advertisements that we see but don't act on them. Also, if you eat the same thing over an over, no matter what it is, your body will get thrown off. If you drink just MILK for a month, you will get too much of what it has, and nothing from other food sources, lets say WATER. Furthrmore, if you gorge yourself with the food trying to make a point, you are making a fake one. So, blame the fast foods places, or blame the advertising. Praise this man for making this false movie, pointing the blame of our obesity at them, and not us, where it should be.

Pollock (2000)
Matches up to "American Beauty's" hidden beauty
30 July 2001
First of all, I am a big Ed Harris fan, so when he got nominated for an Oscar, and frankly should have won, he did much better than Russell Crowe, I went to see the movie, but by then, it was showing no where in my area, so now I have finally seen it and it lived up to its success. I don't think it was so much as a "bio" but more as a look to hidden beauty in his art and paintings. It did show him rising to fame and his downfall, mainly from his drinking. The resemblence between Jackson Pollock and Ed Harris is uncanny. It made it more realistic. His wife Lee Krasner, Marcia Gay Harden, was another remarkable person. She, too an artist, dedicated her life to Pollock, even through his drinking. Ed and Marcia make an amazing screen couple. The worked well together. But most of the credit goes to Ed Harris, with Directing and Producing it. Overall, this movie is very good, to anyone who likes Pollock, or art would love this movie. So if unsure on what to rent, get Pollock

Simply Amazing
30 July 2001
This movie shows how you can find heros in the most unlikely people and places. Michael Richards character, Danny, was out-spoken and rude, but his quote, "People, they get trapped in their own history unless someone shows them a way out" is a great way of thinking, and the movie shows the hardship of growing up and finding someone special when no one else understands what you're going through. With another great direction job of Diane Keaton, brilliant performances by Andie MacDowell, and Michael Richards and an amazing score by Thomas Newman, this movie lets you know that heros can come from anywhere and be anybody.

Scary Movie 2 (2001)
So Bad Made "Blair Witch" Look Good
7 July 2001
Warning: Spoilers
In the original I laughed my A$$ off, during this, I laughed a few times, it had its funny parts, but for the most part, did not live up to the first. Took the parody style too hard. The whole time, its like what movie is that from. Also took the stupidity comedy too strong, too strong = very lame! Most of the funny parts appear in the trailers, so the you've got the good stuff for free.

*********************SPOILER ALERT*****************

Didn't the black girl, Breanda, die in the movie theater in the first one, so how is she in this one.

*****************OVER*****************************

Overall, a standard, half a$$ed sequel. Not worth the 8 bucks.

Survivor (2000– )
TINA TINA TINA
3 May 2001
When it came to the final 5 my pick was Roger. But Colby changed his vote from Kieth to Roger. So The Final 4, I wanted Elizabeth. But she got booted. So Kieth, Colby, Tina. I thought Colby should lose, due to his change of vote to Roger/Elizabeth. Kieth was over-all not nice, but like they said, they didn't go there to make friends. So I wanted Tina due to she befriended several people, and somewhat stayed neutrel. Never got in an argument/fight. Had very little votes in previous shows and the fact that She, Roger, & Elizabeth didn't win any immunities! Colby won 5 in a row, I got sick of it, like Kelly last year. She won 5 in a row, and still lost, very simalar. So I came out oK. It is a really good show. I can't tell you all to rent it, but I know I liked it.

Made Me Sick
17 March 2001
When Hilary won Best Actress over Annette Bening (My fav.) I decided to see the movie to see if she was worth it, and she was in a way, but the movie had a little story covered up by stupid no plot crap. The hate of gays is a good topic, but they didn't have that in there. At the end, a "Sad" ending made sense to me. The end was fair, she was manipulating and lying to everyone and she deserved it. The performance was good, but thats the only thing thats was good. She wasn't even in there that much, so its not really worth the time or the money.

Slice of Hitchcock + Slice of New Age= Great Movie
26 February 2001
Warning: Spoilers
Scary in a true way, with rare blood and gore, and little things like whispering, reflections, and a whole lot of Jumps makes this a Very thrilling movie. Even if you didn't like the story, there is no way that you didn't jump at parts. *************************Spoilers********************* i think the candle twitching in the Quaji board scene or the bathtub scene at the end are the mellow but haunting scenes I also like that you had to pay attention to some scenes like the phone dosen't work till the bridge center or the MEF initianals. And the very end where it fades out and the snow make a face is just like the end of PSYCHO.

***********************spoiler over************************ No best sound or Cinematography nominations surprised me. For a scare, RENT IT

One Word: Amazing
19 February 2001
This is one of the few films that has 2 genres. Comedy, and Drama. But not only that, the comedy is not cheesy. It was well portrayed by Annette and Kevin. With an amazing Score by Thomas Newman, great cinematography by Conrad Hall. For a laugh, a tear, or a whole lot of insperation, see this movie

Hanging Up (2000)
Great
6 July 2000
This is a good underrated movie that hits every emotional key along the way. Who ever wrote about it talking about "Walking Out" as a better title, doesn't know his @$$ to his elbow. This movie may have a few flaws, but you don't notice it with the story, the good acting, and the sadness. This was a great and ironic final movie for Walter Matthau. If confused about what to rent tonight, go ahead with this. It will be surprisingly good.

Stepmom (1998)

It's Great
8 December 1999
The little success of Stepmom doesnt bother my love for stepmom. It has a great story great actors and Excellent Acting by them. Ed Harris is excellent in all of his movies despite he is still under-rated. I was shocked and angered that none of them got any nominations for big awards. They all deserve it.
