Swell (2017)
So That Is What Goes On on Oahu!
I love all of Branden Blinn's videos! There are several other thought provoking gorgeous videos on YouTube.
Swell needs to be a proper series.
Branden is a talented writer with a great eye for steamy guys and
I am sure all those FIRE men hunks need the work );-)

Stand by Me (1986)
Favorite movie of all time
Stand By Me is Rob Reiner's (the Director) favorite movie and it is mine too!
I think every guy has some of this movie in his childhood, you tend to think about the scenes for days after-wards, actually reflecting on your own childhood memories.
Surely is the ultimate "coming of age" flick... Be sure and watch the Featurette on the DVD and you will see that this film deeply touched every one who was a part of it.
Surprisingly this is a Stephen King story that does not have anything supernatural in it and yet at the end of the movie River Phoenix prophetically disappears as he is walking away into a field.
Los novios búlgaros (2003)
If you have ever been taken with a poor foreign lover...
If you have ever been involved with another guy from a former communist country who has absolutely nothing, you can relate to this film! Involved with an poor guy from ANY poor country? YOU CAN RELATE TO THIS FILM! You don't understand their culture, you don't understand their compatriots, their language or their relatives. This guy excites you TOTALLY and you don't really mind the growing drain on your pocketbook... You become more and more in love and more and more involved. The passion of it is exciting; so is the exotic nature of the whole thing including the travel to their home country. What are you getting into?
Bird of Paradise (1951)
Cult movie on the Big Island where it was filmed
Filmed on the Big Island (Island of Hawaii) at Kalapana and Hilo. The color version film is still played regularly in downtown Hilo where it has always been a cult classic. This great movie is ever poignant where each night you can see the glow of the lava still flowing from Madam Pele's Kilauea Volcano. You never know when you will need another Debra Piaget to jump into the fiery lava and appease the goddess' wrath. Movies just don't get better than this! Aloha indeed!
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
Well done, but warning, it will disturb you
This is a very disturbing movie
I also think it is a great movie, with 5 powerful themes all dealt with in highly emotionally charged metaphor:
Truth doesn't matter, only perception... ("protect me, brother", Gigolo Joe's sudden change of status)
The bond between a Mother and child (and vice versa) is very very very strong and loss of it is a cataclysmic event.
People can be mean and selfish. (Mecas are only made to fulfill their (Orgas) needs/pleasure)
Life isn't fair. ("Why didn't I tell you about the world")
Sometimes we need a dream (true or not) just to survive (the fairy tale)
None of us are really all that special... (the assembly line)
Flaws:
Parents sure were pretty stupid taking everything at face value even when they knew they were dealing with a first... not very believable...
The ending gets lost a bit, Kubrick often seemed to have trouble figuring out the ending eg.2001.
SCREEN GEMS:
Loved the child-like naivete of the robots
Loved the ending, anyway, especially the very last scene!
Loved Jude Law's performance
Awed at the talent of Haley Joe Osment
Good job over all, I can't stop thinking about this movie, nor can anyone I know who has seen it. I did not find the movie schizoid at all, I think the hand of both directors worked well together. Let's face it who cannot relate to David's situation?
View with Kleenex but not little kids, it really is a PG-13 movie.
