Magical moments
30 April 1999
The first time I read the tagline for this movie I thought: it's the sentence that best describes this picture.

How can these words be so perfect? ...to tell what these images are about...

Then I realized this was part of the whole concept, words and vision. Parfait melange!

The hypnotizing sequence when Nagiko makes Jerome her lover has a unique visual poetry.

It haunts me each time I see it.

It makes me fall in love.

Therefore, I must blame Peter Greenaway for teaching me this new unreasonable passion: the art of making my heart beat faster.

one of the funniest

I saw it once in Mexico, and I consider it one of the truly funniest films in Estrada's works...

The scene of the mute girl's party is nothing less than awesome...

Angelica-Brenda-Esperanza-Domitila, she is so devilish...
25 March 1999
I've seen it three times...and I can still smell the freshness of this movie's original screenplay....

What I most like of it is that you can feel the joy of making this film. Angelica Maria is brilliant, portraying a complex but superficial character and at the same time being irreverent and innocent...

The movie touches some issues that might be a little bit modern and different for this period time in Mexico, but it does it well...you know, it was 1968, the year that Mexico's youth cinema lost its innocence...
