De zevende hemel (1993)
Urbanus at his worst...
Urbanus' other movies (Coco Flanel and Hector) surely were pretty much fun to watch. Especially if you consider them 'just' Belgian -low budget- movies. But this one's really embarrassing. Urbanus plays a loser, about to commit suicide. Renee Soutendijck is really *REALLY* ugly in this movie. You'd really expect better from her, so this makes things also a little more irritating. The story-line, well, I wonder if things could be anymore predictable.
Don't ever rent it, you'll feel ripped off. Don't ever watch it when they play it on TV, you'll feel ripped off (someone stole your time).
Just don't... whatsoever... just forget about it. I think that's the best for everyone, especially for Urbanus and Renee Soutendijck.
The Trigger Effect (1996)
Nice, but a very unsatisfying ending...
The movie starts, with a grande concept: the electricity goes down in one big city. What happens then?? The movie then shows us some nice things that you'd be confronted with if electricity would go down for a few weeks. For instance, the use of bancontact becomes impossible, no computers work anymore, because of this, all the money you have is your CASH money. That's all. Of course, there's a lot of panic, and some bad guys use the opportunity to break into people's houses and steal stuff. We get to see Elizabeth Shue, who is, as always fairly entertaining to see. Shue and her husband want to get away from the big city, and go to her parent's house. From then things go wrong. It's impossible to tell you more without spoiling things. Anyway, so far so good. This is one of the few movies, at which you say at the end 'oh, this may have took another 20 minutes'.
Fun and entertaining to watch, but you'll feel cheated and unsatisfied at the end.
Payback (1999)
Cool. Supercool.
The best movie so far this year. Stunning Mel Gibson who is Mr. Cool himself. A must see. Not for wimps.
