Dead Man's Curve (1998)
A great little flick.
This flick certainly beats alot of the big budget teen/horror flicks that have come out lately. Great dialogue, original camerawork, and a lot of twists to keep you interested. It also can be funny as hell, in a..
SPOILER quote: Lillard after pushing someone off a cliff. Tim: "He keeps treating people like that someone will end up pushing him off a cliff." Natalie: "Maybe that's not a bad idea." Tim in disdain:"Jeez..Natalie." SPOILER END
That was a great scene and there were plenty more of them. I thought though Mathew Lillard was overacting too much in some parts. He still plays the great psycho though. Give this movie a try, it's a very entertaining flick, as long as you dont get so biased.
The Babysitter (1995)
I really liked it.
Most people thought this movie sucked. I guess they just couldn't get into like I did. Let me ask you this, and answer honestly. Did this movie intrigue you? Were you anxious to know what would happen next? If you answered yes, then this movie delivered on one of its purposes and you can't say it totally sucked. I personally was fascinated by the original narration, and the depiction of carachters as seen by the world, and how, because of the filmakers, we get to see them how they really are, on the inside. All three of the main carachters were connected with their obsession with the babysitter. I was very interested on how their mere fantasies would move their actions through the movie. I was also in suspense, wanting to know how the three competing actors would face eachother during the climax of the movie. And how the repurcussions would be with their lives. Another interesting is how more and more intense their fantasies get, they evolve as they get more obsessed on the babysitter. You can feel the tension rising as the fantasies get stronger, and where they no longer decide to keep it just that.
SPOILER
The ending, I have to say, is a let down. It had nothing to do with the rest of the story, while I expected there would be a big conflict to settle things, i was dissapointed. Still, not too terrible.
SPOILER END
In general, a very intense, suspenseful, psychological thriller. I really like it.
The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (1996)
Kick butt cartoon.
I loved this cartoon. Most suspenseful stories you can get in a cartoon, with a great Micheal Chrichton/Deen Koontz flavor to them. Much better than the original. Fun, entertaining, cartoon.
The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1994)
A Misunderstood Classic
Most people think that this is a peice of s***. They probably think that it was one of the worst films in existence. Sometimes this makes me wonder if the majority of the population are dumbasses or artistically autistic. The truth is that this movie is a classic of horror. I gave it a ten. The people that think it's terrible are trying like hell to analyse it. They just dont understand it. And what they don't understand they think that it's stupid. Hell, who would want to think the other way around? The truth is that this a classic of horror. It's just as perplexing and bizarre as the original, but it takes it all to a higher level. Texas Chainsaw Massacre in its most evolved form. And that's what it tries to be, so it deserves the utmost acclaim. It's also a horror rollercoaster, it has all the suspense to make it extremely entertaining, and also has the humor. I loved this movie, it was a peice of art. Most people just dont understand it. Oh well, too bad for them, because this certainly is a classic.
