Greatest War movie Ever
30 July 1999
Speilberg proves himself, yet again, as the best director of all times. He has successfully left "The Goonies" behind for more intelligent movies worthy of his vast talents and this is a good example. His use of different filming and sound creates a dramatic effect. It is the PRIME example of a movie which makes you feel as if you're there. Of course, Hank's performance is Oscar-worthy, yet again. KBONE rating: 10.

Top Choice

This movie has an excellent script, great acting, superior dialog, and appropriate casting. It's almost hard to believe that Damon and Affleck could have developed such an intelligent script at such young ages. Perhaps they got help? Who knows...and who cares. The final result was a simply great, human, moving story. Robin Williams certainly earned his Oscar. The only faults I found in the movie was William's failure at maintaining the Boston accent consistently (yet his acting made up for it so completely, I STILL think he deserved that Oscar) and the somewhat labored idea of an alcoholic father being the root of a kid's problems. The KBONE rating: 10.

Kids (1995)
Realistic but somewhat pornographic
30 July 1999
I came in half-way into this movie and due to the no-name cast and documentary-style filming, I thought it WAS a documentary. Films like these NEED a no-name cast to fly. It was entertaining and worth a watch. But, the scene where Tellie takes the young Spanish girl's virgintiy did some like kiddie-porn. On the KBONE scale of 1-10 it gets a 6.5.

Moonstruck (1987)
Member of the O.R.M.L.
30 July 1999
This movie is a charter member of the O.R.M.L. (Overated Movies List). I heard so much about but was not surprised when I finally labored through it and found it to be every bit as poor as I thought it would be. Cher is pitiful. The movie is not quirky, funny or even vaguely entertaining. KBONE rating: 3.

Sick & Twisted
30 July 1999
The best of the Troma films. At the time it was funny and really took gore to the next level. Good for college kids I guess. But these Troma films are so perverted (not really in a pornographic sense but rather as portraying sheer sadistic evil in people) that after you're done watching it, you'll want to take a shower and go to church. KBONE rating: 7.5. I would not recommend letting the kids watch.

Demons (1985)
Great Movie
30 July 1999
I saw this movie when it first came to video around 1987. It quickly became one of my favorites. You can't hold it's 1980's style against since it was made in the heart of the 80's. On the negative side the lighting is too dark and the voice overs are poor. The sword scene is also pretty dumb. However, the film is action-packed, the effects are truly gorey, and the movie keeps you feeling like "Jeez, how would I possibly excape?!" This gets an adjusted KBONE rating (taking into account the 80's-ishness)of 9 on a scale of 1-10. Very recommended.

The Evil Dead (1981)
One of the Greatest Horror Movies Ever
30 July 1999
KBONE's philosophy is that a low-budget and unknown cast makes for the best horror, simply because the film appears more real to life. Watching Robert DeNiro fighting demons just wouldn't quite fly to well. This film is genuinely scary. Spooky is another good description. As others have said, you can credit the director for this, who managed to capture such scary scenes on such a low budget. KBONE's rating is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Virtually the Best Movie Ever
30 July 1999
I am a young man who grew up loving horror, action, and kung-fu movies. I hated the Victorian books we were forced to read in school. However, the one exception to the rule has been this movie. I LOVED this movie. The story line was solid. The direction was superb. And the acting was so good, that I have always wondered why Reeves & Seymour's career didn't catapult after this film. I have watched it many times since it came out, and ever time I am captivated. If you can't relate to this movie, I think you must have a heart of cold stone. This gets a strong KBONE rating of 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Pay special attention to Seymour's soliloquy during the play and Reeve's facial expressions during that time as well Reeve during the last 10 minutes of the movie. I really can't say enough about this masterpiece.

Fist of Fury (1972)
B.Lee Extreme

This movie not only has all the action expected of a Bruce Lee movie, it actually has an emotional story. This is a staple for any Bruce Lee fan. My choice as the best kung-fu movie of all times. KBONE rating: 9.
