Perfect Strangers (1986–1993)
Family Matters? You must be joking!!!
21 August 1999
Perfet Strangers was a great show in the 80's. Who could forget Larry Appleton and his Cousin Balki Bartacamus (of the Island of Mepos). This show had lots of laighs, plenty of twists and turns, but I have just one question. Why Family Matters? Larry and Balki worked at the Chicago Chronicle, a newapaper that also employed an elevator operator named "Harriet Winslow". This character's comic relief proved to be so popular, that she was given a spin-off in 1989 titled, Family Matters, which finally ended it's run in 1998. In case you don't know, Family Matters was the show that featured the world famous nerd, known as Steven Quincy Urkel. Family Matters was a decent, yet silly show, and being silly, only made Perfect Strangers look stupid. Now, when I watch re-runs of Family Matters on TBS Superstation, I always wonder why was this show so damn successful. And why did it have to launch from Perfect Strangers. Still, both great shows (one much better than the other) that had very successful series runs. If you can overlook Family Matters, I would highly recommend Pefect Strangers for it was a show with a great cast, funny jokes and lots of great episode plots!!!!!

Head of the Class (1986–1991)
Hesseman rules!!!
21 August 1999
What can I Say? No matter where you see Howard Hesseman, whether it be "WKRP", "Police Academy 3", or "Head of the Class", he is always funny and entertaining. Head of the Class was a show that was not only funny, but one of the most original shows ever. This show had a great cast, and very entertaining episodes, that kept me laughing for hours. But, one thing I noticed about the show was Hesseman's departure in 1990, and the arrival of new teacher, Brit comedian Billy Connolly. One season later, the show folded, which proved that the show was built around Hesseman and audiences really took to his character, maybe even more than his alter ego Johnny Fever!!!

Greatest American Series!!!!
21 August 1999
You don't see many action shows nowadays that were as good as this one. Who once was a part of "The Greatest American Hero" is now the king of the "Biggest American Zero", Michael Paré gave the greatest performance of his career on this series, and along with other great performances in "Eddie and the Cruisers Part 1 and 2" and "Streets of Fire", he remains one of hollywood's most overlooked talents. Most of the actors on this series had faded away after the shows end, and that basically goes to show that a longer series run might have given each star their break!

Too Close for Comfort (1980–1987)
Well remembered series!!!
21 August 1999
Oh, I remember this great series very well. I remember Henry Rush, and his fictional cartoon creation "Cosmic Cow", his upstair's neighbour Monroe, his two beautiful daughters, his wife, and his much hated mother-in-law. I remember how much this series made me laugh. This show was the perfect sitcom, it had good laughs, a great cast, and a very sucessful series run. But by 1985, I had lost interest in this show after re-tited "The Ted Knight Show" because the setting moved from Apartment to house, and the two daughters were nowhere to be seen. All, and all, a great series that will live on forever!!!
