Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
One of the worst sequels ever
What is it with these movies companies? They can't think of anything, so they make a remake or a sequel of a cult hit and we end up with movies like this.I love the Blues Brothers. I wasn't too mad about the idea of a sequel when I first heard about it. At first I decided I wasn't going to see it after reading so many bad reviews but I went anyway. Came back home. Didn't like it. I gave it a second chance on DVD, still don't like it. Here's what is wrong: First of all, its not the Blues Brothers its just Elwood[his character seems different] and 3 other dudes[one is a kid, how lame] why couldn't they just get some other guy to play John Belushis part. The songs aren't catchy they are just recycled. Its too unreal. The first was unreal but funny and not stupid. The car chases weren't all that great. If you like the first one you won't be too mad about this one.
12 Monkeys (1995)
Spine-tingling stuff
This movie was so engrossing. The fact that you never know what is going on. I watched this movie at New Year - 1997 I was meant to be watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but when I was waiting for the film to start, I got bored with the documentary that was on so I flipped through the channels and started to watch Twelve Monkeys because I heard Bruce Willis was in it. I became so interested in the movie that I forgot all about the Rocky Horror Show. The great thing about the film is that you don't know if Cole (Willis) is imagining things or if he is telling the truth. But it is Brad Pitt who steals most of the scenes as the asylum inmate. I love the twist at the end. After I watched the film I kept thinking about it so I rented it. The second time I watched it, it seemed to make more sense. It's one of those films that you seem to notice different things each time you watch it.
6 great things about this film:
1 Bruce Willis was in it. 2 All round good cast. 3 I like time-traveling films. 4 The twist at the end. 5 Psychological thriller. 6 The theme.
The A-Team (1983)
Howlin' mad show!
This was one of those shows that that everybody watched from little kids to old people. This show contains a bit of everything - action, comedy, romance and drama. The show has a big focus on the characters, people can relate to them. People say I'm a bit like Face . Kids wanted to be like B.A.[Mr.T] Hey, I was one of them. I think kids liked him because he was big and tough and drove all different types of vehicles, had weapons but still had time to help kids at the youth club and drink his milk. One last thing I heard rumours that there might be an A Team movie - that would suck, so I hope they don't do that.
Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons (1967)
It will always be swinging
This show may have originally been made for kids but it is still loved by adults and kids alike. The voice of The Mysteron still sends shivers up my spine. I prefer it to Thunderbirds, although I still like Thunderbirds. The characters are much cooler in this, especially Captain Black - he kicks ass. I like those white aeroplane things, they're pretty cool. I always seem to like the bad guys more. Why will this show always be swinging? It so 60ish and it is 4 decades since then and it is still pretty popular. I remember when it made a comeback back in 93, that's how I first got into it. The one thing I did not like about the show was when the scene changed the picture would flash. I think Gerry Anderson's creations are the greatest.
Arthur (1996)
I can relate to this
This a great show. I can relate this to a lot of things that have happened in my childhood. The characters are like real kids, unlike 'Hey Arnold' and 'Recess'. Whoever wrote this show knows kids and how they behave, especially siblings. I'm not afraid to admit that I thoroughly enjoy this show. My favourite characters are D.W. - she's such a little madam and Buster.
Beavis and Butt-Head (1993)
huh huh huh this rocks
The greatest cartoon of all time (that's just my opinion). Okay, the show is crude and tasteless but it does have a point - it explores the teenage world. Will these guys ever score??!! I doubt it. I wish the show was still on the air. The best thing about the show is the music videos that come on throughout and B & B comment on. The show also has a lot of slapstick too and could kick South Parks a** any day of the week.
A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989)
this rocks
I know a lot of people didn't like this film but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Freddy shows he ain't scared of anything or anybody. The dreams were really cool, especially the comic book one. That guy really thought he could shoot Freddy to death? That guy got his ass kicked. The posh girls dream at the dinner table was pretty disgusting - but still cool! I didn't understand some of it but who cares.
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
NO JASON?!!
As a Jasonaholic I was truly disappointed. I mean come on man. What is the Friday the 13th series about?? Hello...it's supposed to be about the Vorhees family and Camp Crystal Lake!! Did the writers suddenly forget about Jason (and his fans). Four ways that you can tell that the killer is not Jason. 1. The mask is wrong. 2. The real Jason would take longer to kill. 3. The back of his head is not right. 4. Jason was wearing a green jumper when he got "killed" in number four. How come he isn't in this? The other goof in this film is that Tommy is supposed to be eighteen in this but in 1984 (the year before this one) he was twelve. So that means that this film should have been set in 1990, But it seems very 80ish to me.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
The hat. The glove. The jumper. The scars
In my opinion Freddy is the most evil and most famous movie villain. This is a classic for any horror fan. The idea is great, a man goes into people's dreams and kills them with a customized glove/claw. Freddy might scare the life out of me but he has also made me laugh - when he chops his fingers off with his glove and when he's attacking the girl and she pulls off his face to reveal a laughing skull. I hate it when people talk about this movie and say it's just some old 80's horror film from the writer of Scream. Those people should give the film the respect it deserves. What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear the name Wes Craven?
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
good but could be better
as a fan of the t.v show I was really excited about this movie I went to see it. I loved it so much I went 9 more times. But I thought we were robbed because on the front cover it says "uncut" but I didn't see what was so uncut about it. Certain characters should have had a bigger part in it ie Officer Barbrady, Chef, Ned and Jimbo, the Mayor and some characters should not have had such a large part in it; the parents, Big Gay Al for example. But apart from that I love it.
Psycho (1960)
Best black and white horror ever
I watched this movie because it was Hitchcocks anniversary and it was one of those films I'd been dying to see and I thought it was great {I didn't think it was as good as a lot of people had told me though}. The twist about mother was cool, second best in history next to the Sixth Sense. I thought 2 and 3 were cool too. Anthony Perkins was really good as Norman Bates.
