Hannibal Lecter is enjoying his life in Rome. For an intellectual as he is it the place to be. Beautiful architecture, impressive opera's and lot's of possibility's for a good meal. Clarence Sterling is facing the other side of the medal also. During a catastrofal shoot-out she kills 5 people. She loses her badge and her good name. Mason Verger is the third person. He is the only victim of Lecter who's still alive. His face tells you that he did not had an pleasant encounter with Hanibal. His obsession for vengeance brings Hannibal and Clarence back together. The film is visual almost perfect. No Suprise because Ridley Scot has been directing this movie. Beautiful scenery in Rome and Sicily. Julliane Moore is great as Clarence Sterling. Charming and very, very sexy. The film has an ironic tone with some gruesome graphical details. Hanibal has class and style. A complete other movie than his predecessor. But that doesn't make it a bad movie. On the contrary. The Silence has been broken...

Light and funny...

To see some locations of the biggest movie event in the near future, Lord of the rings, I traveled four weeks through New Zealand. The trip ended in Christchurch we're went to a cultural centre. In a small room they played the movie Magic and Rose, for me and three other people. Magic and Rose is a melodrama about sex, relations and friendship and is completely filmed in a small village at the south coast. It's not the type of movie I really like to watch, but this one is light, funny and sometimes a bit dramatic. Not a great movie but worth seeing though. Especially when you visited the town and traveled the south coast...
