A heartfelt drama -- wonderful!
24 April 2001
This is probably the best dramatic film that I've seen in years. Ellen Burstyn is amazing (as allways). Jonathan Taylor Thomas proves that there is more to his career that Home Improvement! He really turns his character into a rich, developed lead. Probably one of his best efforts. This is an excellent film, its just a pity that it isn't distributed more prominantly. Definitely rent it if you can find it, you won't be disappointed!

Bland, but still watchable...
24 April 2001
Okay..... if Platoon or Apocolypse Now is available, you should rent those films instead. However, if you've seen those features (and enjoyed them) -- then give The Walking Dead a shot. Its nothing extraordinary, but each actor (especially Allan Payne) gives a excellent, believable performance. Its also nice to see that Central Florida was used as a location to film something besides a bad comedy (Earnest Saves Christmas) or bad Reality TV shows (Making The Band).

Exploitative Trash...

Steer clear of this film, it was just a bad idea all away around. Sam Bottoms performance is laughable, he chews up dialogue more than the Cookie Monster. The story (or lack of) deteriorates into a fantasy film in which several characters go back to prehistoric time. Then its time to add some Playboy Playmates (the terrible "actress" Sherrie Rose for example) for mere eye candy. Just a dud overall.

Greg Mackie is a talented actor!
5 September 2000
Greg Mackie possesses an incredible comic timing and slapstick genius in the independent film Out of Time. Under the skilled direction of Michael T. Dunn, Mackie's performance is truely breathtaking.

This film really is the perfect throwback to 1920's era silent films with stars like Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin. It mixes a bit of the 1990s into the film by setting Mackie's character as a college student who just can't get a break.

This really was the perfect vehicle to launch star Greg Mackie with. His emotional range and energy translate very well to comedy. I am really looking forward to his future film appearances.

While this film was short -- it still delighted audiences nationwide at several prominant film festivals. Hopefully it will eventually be released for the home video market -- so audiences can experience the thrill of this simple tale orchestrated by accomplished film director Dunn (and Greg Mackie's incredible acting performance).
