The Musketeer (2001)
Star Wars in the 16th Century
I liked this film a lot, the story was good, but the attention to detail in the scenery was excellent. The action sequences were really good though some suspension of belief is needed to over look some of the impossible movements from scene to scene. The music was a bit annoying and put me so much in mind of Star Wars (1st). It then struck me that the whole premise and story of both films matched almost exactly. Something I might have over looked with out the music. Still very worth seeing, Tim Roth as Darth Va... I mean as the very evil head of the Cardinal guards ( I can't remember his character name ) was excellent as he was in Planet of the apes.
Space Patrol (1963)
The other series that ran against Fireball XL5
I remember this show from the 60's, Sunday night on BBC. It had a very futuristic look, vehicles traveling in tubes, "people" from other planets working with humans. This show ran 39 episodes like XL5, 39 seems an odd number why not 40.
