Wanted (2008)
Simply awful!!
This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, or better started to see. I went out of the cinema after watching 50 minutes of this crap. Don't compare it with Matrix, because Matrix was intelligent, new, breathtaking. Wanted is an awful orgy of blood, violence and stupid, unbelievable action scenes, pardon computer animated action scenes. But Wow! Slow motion scenes of bullets hitting a persons head and coming out in an explosion of blood. That's real cinema!! Or is that the new kind of cinema? A young man, someone everybody else is pissing on, discovers superhuman power. Super human power! Wow! Thats new!! Is his name Bruce Wayne or Harry Potter? No! It's Wesley Gibson! Forget the name, forget the movie! Wanted is not worth spending 10 cents on it!!
Der Engel mit der Posaune (1948)
Great piece of Austrian movie history
This movie has a wonderful cast. Some of the greatest Austrian actors gathered to do this great movie; Paula Wessely, her husband Attila Hörbiger, Hans Holt and a young Oscar Werner, just to name a few. The movie tells the history of a Vienese family from the late 1880s to the year 1948. The "Engel mit der Posaune" (The angel with the trombone) is the sculpture over the entrance to the family's house in Vienna. If you get the chance to watch this movie - don't hesitate. It is a fine portrait of a upper-middle-class family in Vienna, with some very touching scenes.
Young Bess (1953)
A wonderful journey into the past
This is an entertaining movie and not a documentary. So, why not show "how it could have happened". This is what makes history interesting and exciting. The story is very well written, the actors are superb. And there is this sparkling chemistry between Jean Simmons, Stewart Granger and Deborah Kerr I miss so much in modern movies. This is GOOD OLD HOLLYWOOD (even it is mostly a british movie). I hope that in the near future somebody produces a good DVD!! This movie is one of my all time favorites!!
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968)
Most wonderful childhood memory
This is the ultimate family-movie!! I've seen it dozens of times since I was a child and I don't get tired of watching it. Wonderful songs, wonderful acting!!
Even today's kids love it!!
