Finally, a movie for everyone who DID inhale!
24 November 2000
All i can say is WOW! My friend has been telling me to see this movie for awhile now. I finally rented it last week and watched it. Even though there was really no point to the movie it was still highly enjoyable.

Dazed and Confused is about a bunch of high school students on their last day of school in 1976.

All the characters are memorable and it's hard to forget every one of them. I think most high school students can connect with the characters whether it be 1976 or 2000. I know, personally, that each one of my friends (and including myself) is each one of the characters. Of course I have a friend who is identical to Pink, Simone, Michelle, Mike, Tony, etc..

All the actors in the movie were great but Rory Cochrane's character, Slater, just stood out. Of course me being a fan of this fine actor, would say something like this, but it is true. The doped-up stoner, Slater, is one of the funniest and unforgetable characters of Dazed.

Highly recommended movie for anyone regardless of age. This movie is not your average PG-13 teenaged movies like Down To You, Drive Me Crazy, (or anything containing Freddie Prinze Jr.). Because it's not your average PG-13 teenager movie, it's rated R for language and they smoke a lot of weed in this movie.

"George Washington was in a cult, and the cult was into aliens man!"~Slater

How can this be compared to The Exorcists
15 October 2000
I went to see this last night with some friends when we failed to make The Exorcists on time. We weren't expecting anything spectacular or anything horrible. I sat through about an hour and an half of nothingness. I usually enjoy most movies, but this is really bad. At the end of the movie, the audience got up and in unison said, "This movie sucked." The ending was weak and was a bad take off on some the scenes of the exorcists. This was a bad chose for Winona Ryder.

During one point in the movie, I couldn't take anymore so I got up to get some fresh air. During the entire film, everyone in the audience had to have gotten up and left at least once.

This movie was intended for horror, but it wasn't. There were even parts of comedy (well, they weren't suppose to be). I usually give all movies a chance, but this was a top class horrible movie.

Usually you can give a bad movie some kinda credit (good acting, costumes, cinemetography, etc), but there was nothing like that here. I guess if you want to go waste your money feel free to see this movie.

My rating~ 3/10 (my lowest score ever)

WOW! Very Excellent
14 October 2000
Warning: Spoilers
Some people say this movie is not of the horror genre, but it is. It might not be a slasher movie but it definetly brings on some intense scares. The cinemetography is beautiful in this film and the digital effects are stellar.

Everyone played their parts well, but of course Al Pacino was the best. I can't think of anyone else to play the devil in this part.

So it kinda resembles Rosemary's Baby, but not quite. If not for that part of the story, the plot would fall apart.

This movie is not for everyone. I warn you in advance. Younger children should not view this movie. Probably high schoolers and above, it is ok for. There is a lot of nudity and some scenes of sexuality and a little language here or there making this movie an R rating.

I have read other reviews of this movie and they say Keanu can't do a southern accent. Well, I come from Florida and I think everyone pretty much did a good job with the speaking. Florida's southern accent is different than somewhere like Georgia or Alabama.

--SPOILER AHEAD. DISCONTINUE READING OR SKIP TO THE END--

Some people say the ending was a bit weak, maybe it was, but it would be really hard to end with a big "boom." The director led up to the the ending with such intensity and then kinda ended weakly. But I think the ending was extremely good. You couldn't end it any other way. It was a real blow to the head.

--END END END--

Overall i think this movie deserves an 8. It was very entertaining and dramatic. The acting was superb. Definetly worth watching.

Little Buddha (1993)
Enlightening
24 September 2000
I have always been interested in reincarnation. This movie was a bit slow, but it was worth a watch up to the point of Buddha's enlightenment. After that, though, it begins to get incredibly slow. Keanu Reeves is really beautiful looking this movie. He did his part well.

There are 2 parts to this movie; 1. The present day part and 2. the back in time part. The "back in time" part was much more enjoyable.

Unique
15 September 2000
I remember seeing the preview for this movie when it came out last year. I wanted to see it but I never got around to it and it kinda faded out of existense. But than it came out on video and I definatly had to see it. I figured the movie had Nicolas Cage in it, so it had to be pretty good. The story seemed really good and it even compelled me to read the book.

Bringing Out The Dead tells a story of a burnt out paramedic who works in Hell's Kitchen. It's tells 48 hours of Frank Pierce's (Cage) life. It goes from drug use, ghosts, cardiac arrests, and men being impaled with metal rods. The movie sticks pretty close to the book which is very unusual. The only thing that the movie left out (which fed a lot of Frank's suffering) was the history of him and his wife. Well I guess you will just have to see the movie and read the book.

Rated R for some language, violence, and a scene of drug use.

I just saw this movie
15 September 2000
I just saw this movie yesterday. I hadn't really heard of it, but than I saw it sitting on the shelf at blockbuster. I picked it up and decided to rent it. I began watching. It seemed like an 'ok' movie. And after I watched, it still seemed 'ok.'

Feeling Minnesota is about a former stripper, Freddy (Diaz) who owes a debt to a nightclub owner (Lindo). To pay him off, she is forced to marry Sam (D'Onforio). But when Freddy meets Sam's brother, Jjaks (who's name was mispelled on his birth certificate), Jjaks and Freddy run off together. Sam highers Detective Ben Costikyan (Aykroyd) to get revenge on them.

This movie is rated are for violence, language, and sexuality. I do not recommend people under high school age to see this movie. But anyone old enough, should try it out.

Thumbs Up for Cage and Rest of Cast
13 September 2000
i went to see this movie with a bunch of friends one night. I didn't really hear much about it. So I wasn't expecting anything. But after I saw it, I really liked it. Nicolas Cage and the rest of the cast were very good. But I do have to say Giovanni Ribisi's acting performace did need a little perking up. But such a small flaw, it could be overrided.

Gone In 60 Seconds is about a retired car thief who must boost 60 rare and exotic cars in one night to save his brother's life. The movie is in no way predictable. So the ending should be a suprise. Think it's just another, fast car driving movie? Well you are partially right. There is much more to it. Everyone should take a look at this movie.

The Watcher (I) (2000)
10/10
Really Good
8 September 2000
Some might say, Keanu Reeves is not a good serial killer. But so what, he played his part well. I do not think this movie was that scary, but it had a good plot. There were even moments of some small comedy.

The Watcher is about a retired detective (Spader) who moves to Chicago. But he does not know that his "favorite" serial killer (Reeves) has followed him. Now, he has brought the retiree out of retirement.

When I went to see this, my friend said, now she felt like someone was watching her. But than I told her, do you really think Keanu Reeves would come out and kill you. I think that eased her nerves. Shouldn't really scare anyone, but definatly a bit nerve racking.

Rated R for violence. There wasn't really much language or blood to be found in this movie. Sexuality was far from The Watcher. Definatly worth a 'watch.'

Unique
2 September 2000
This quite a unique movie. It's worth a watch regardless of what others might say.

I Love You To Death tells a [true] story about a cheating husband trying to be knock off by his wife. Poisoning is the first choice. When the over dose of pills don't work, they ask a very love struck bus boy to pull the trigger. There last resort is to hire 2 very drugged up "hitman."

Kevin Kline, Tracey Ullman, Joan Plowright are very good playing this slightly dysfunctional family. River Phoenix is also very convincing as a moonstruck, busboy. And there is William Hurt and Keanu Reeves. I do have to agree with the person whose comment said, "They make Dumb and Dumber look like yale graduates."

Hey, it might not be the best movie in the world. But it was a bit of fresh air from the daily norm.

Pretty Cool
30 August 2000
Some people aren't giving this movie enough credit. Yes it is another football movie. But with style. The jokes are funny and not repeated, a little bit of action and of course Keanu Reeves. I really don't enjoy the game of football that much. But this movie was quite a nice change of pass.

A loose take off on the 1987 football strike. when football players decided that they don't play unless they get paid, replacement players are brought in. Yes the movie is predictable and can't be compared to other movies, but it's light hearted and doesn't take much to think about. Definitely worth see.

Excellent...Party On
30 August 2000
hey, it's a classic. Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves play their parts perfectly as 2 air-head teenagers in highschool. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is indeed very Excellent. Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu) must pass their history project or they will fail. Ted will be sent off to military school. This could possibly be the end for Bill & Ted's band, Wydle Stallions. Definitely worth seeing. After you have watched this, make sure to see Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

Beautiful...
27 August 2000
This film in one word, "beautiful." Keanu Reeves and the rest of the cast make this film enjoyable. I am not a big fan of romance pictures, but this has to be one of the more enjoyable ones. The acting is superb and the story is excellent.

A young woman heading back home meets up with a chocolate salesman. She is pregnant (but not married) and cannot bare to face her father. Keanu's character hides his true identity to play the role as her husband.

This picture is worth seeing and I advise anyone to see it. Whether they are into romance films or not. People who bad-mouth this film are too dense to realize you don't need action and bloodshed to have a good movie.
