The Roast of Tom Brady (2024)
Kevin Hart was unwatchable
Love a good roast...but Kevin Hart seemed to be coming from the wrong place. Instead of cleverly telling jokes he just skipped to easy laughs. I suggest watching it with your remote ready to fast forward anytime you see Kevin's face.
Also having Kim Kardashian up there was strange. She did a good reading the jokes that were given to her but if you think of the fact that she took a professionals spot...it gets depressing.
Tom was a good sport but man oh man his family took a few hits. I know it's fair game but it seemed like the talent ran out of other things to make fun of...because they kept coming back to his ex wife and kids.
Rim of the World (2019)
Who funds movies like this?
Think of all the hard work it takes to get a movie made...and then all the hard work it takes to get that movie on a service like Netflix. Now how would it feel if you're waiting for the green light on your project and you watch this POS of a movie. Some how this thing got made!!...which goes to say...anything is possible in this world.
The script in this movie feels like it was written for characters that would be of collage age. Because the language and jokes are so adult.
This movie is NOT for kids unless you're the kind of parent that uses bad language in front of your kids.
On a side note...we did watch the entire movie which tells me it's worth a 3 not a 1.
Den of Thieves (2018)
Butler is almost too much to be considered a "good guy"
This movie was able to provide a solid twist at the end...enough so that it saved the movie from a 4 Star rating. However, as for the other 80% of the movie you have to put up with Butler over playing his character. He plays a cop who is a loud to run wide. Him and his rough looking team go to strip clubs, use drugs, stay out all night beating up suspects, and basically acting like gang members. And by the time he catches up to the bank robbers you end up rooting for the bad guys*.
*(Which in this movie are portrayed as good guys)
Intrusion (2021)
Totally predictable
There must be two types of reviewers in this world...those who took 1 or 2 film classes in college...and those who didn't.
Now those who gave this film a low rating most likely took a film class. Because they recognize alllllllll that is wrong with this film.
On the other hand, the group who watched this and was legitimately shocked by the ending must have skipped those classes.
I have to admit that sometimes I wish I could go back and watch films without the knowledge I gained in film school...but I can't...
It is for that reason I give this totally predictable film a solid 4 out of 10.
Meltdown: Three Mile Island (2022)
Tooooooo Long
This doc could have been 1 hour.
Now shame on Netflix for not getting '"The China Syndrome" ready to stream right after watching this. I found myself heading over to Amazon the drop $4 on a rental of a great film from the 70's.
The Thing About Pam (2022)
Must Watch! What a Story
I really didn't think network TV could produce anything worth watching now a days...but this changed that thinking.
Great story and even better storytelling.
Windfall (2022)
Could of been a short film
Not sure why we had to watch the robber eat and drink orange juice for what seemed like 20 minutes in the very beginning of the movie...
Also, not sure why the wife hated being married to the husband and seemed to never take his side when they had one of the many conversations with the robber.
All in all if you didn't see that ending coming within the first half of this movie you need to watch more movies.
This collage script should of been compressed into a 30 minute short...maybe that would have made it more interesting to watch.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Good start...bad Ending
At the start of this show you are constantly trying to figure things out in a logical way...in the middle of the show you end up going along for the ride...and at the end...well, you can't help but point out all the ways it couldn't have been the 9 year old girl! For example, how would a 9 year old clean up all the girlfriends blood in the time it took the police to get to the house. Also how did a 9 year old drag a body in the hills and bury it! And finally, how did a 9 year become so jealous of her soon to be brother or sister that she spent every waking hour sawing the legs of the dock so the mother would fall into the lake and drown!
Doesn't anyone in the writers room think that ending is just stupid! I guess that's why it's a comedy...because it's dumb.
La casa de papel: El espectáculo de la vida (2021)
This season should have been called season 4 extras.
Why on earth would we want to see more of season 4??? There is no suspense because we allllll know what happens.
In season 4 they got away with the gold. In this season we watch them....get away with the gold but this time around we see it from a few different angles. Lame all the way around.
Cruella (2021)
Why Call It Cruella?
This movie should have been about some other person who was just "miss understood". Not Cruella...Cruella is evil...Evil is Evil...
Also Dalmatians get a bad rap in this movie.
Trolls World Tour (2020)
What happened!
This movie was DOA from the opening. It has to go down as the worst sequel to a movie ever. Thank the lord it skipped the theater's. What a pile of you know what.
The Commuter (2018)
So lame but I watched the whole thing
This movie was predictable from the title but I held out hope it would have a twist. Well that was not the case...this movie has the plot twist that was popular in the 90's...you know the one...Cop friend is a good guy at the start...then at the end he is the bad guy.
Waco (2018)
Not Enough Back Story
The ATF might have been the bad guys but this show really makes them out to be B-Movie hot heads. I'm sure the truth is in this show somewhere but it's hard to find.
However, it's worth a watch to see guns and blood!
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Review Bots to the Rescue!
I like movies. I like big Georgia blockbusters. But as a human with an opinion and an account I feel I must help other humans in the right direction. And that direction is: Watch this movie in fast forward until you see something interesting. This way you'll be able to enjoy it and not waste 3 full hours. As for the bots who gave this a 10...I hope your internet is forever slow.
K-19: The Widowmaker (2002)
Soiled six
Captain 1 is bad guy...Captain 2 is good guy. Some of the crew like Captain 1 some of the crew like Captain 2.
I did watch the whole thing and it was entertaining but the story has just been told before.
Dead to Me (2019)
Short episodes move the story along
Great show to watch right before bed. Each episode gives you just enough to keep your interest. I could have done with a little better ending but whatever.
What/If (2019)
Strange cast of characters and storylines
Very odd that the 3 stories don't really connect in any way. Also the acting is low grade. The high school friend with the handicam is a great example of the above statement.
Holmes & Watson (2018)
Break into song an dance
You think this movie is bad but you keep watching just to see the train wreck. But once the wreck starts you find it boring! And by the time Will starts into a very very long singing and dancing scene you must shut it off and do something more productive.
Adam Carolla: Not Taco Bell Material (2018)
More Trash Cans in the Background Please
Great to see Adam on stage making people laugh. The production is very good. I can't wait to see part 2 or 3 when he it together.
