Lovecraft Country: Strange Case (2020)
Much better than the previous ones
I must say that I find this episode really entertaining. The arc for Ruby's transformation is well paced and the twist at the end is absolutely stunning but there were actually loads of clues. Montrose's storyline is fine as well although there is much less tension but the emotional development is there. Honestly I was a little disappointed with the previous 2episodes which were unexciting and mediocre but things are indeed getting better. I don't get why this episode is so Low rated but I certainly enjoy this one.
Lovecraft Country: Holy Ghost (2020)
a decent episode on its own, but needs more coherence
Took me quite a while to get used to the very different storytelling in this episode compared to the last one. The episode itself is entertaining to watch and logical at the same time: there is clear explanation on why they moved into the haunted house, how they discover the ghost, how they resolve the problem... The tension and drama is there, the horror elements are fine and nothing feels rushed, at least compared to the last episode the development of is smooth enough. The problem is that there are just too many stuffs that need to be explained from the last episode but it seems that this episode is not even trying to achieve that, I mean at least to me there seemed to be quite a lot of twists going on in the last episode that should landed in some significant consequences, which I do not see any here, but I guess this episode is not to blame for that.
Tenet (2020)
Brilliant storyline
The idea of inverted time is not a novel concept but it is still mind-blowing to see the plot of the movie going forward and backward at the same time. Yes the plot is quite complicated and Nolan indeed hid a hell lot of information in the scenes which are quite easy to miss if you are not paying close attention consistently. Yet it really feels satisfactory to be able to put all these clues together and see where the plot is actually going to. Acting by John David Washington and Robert Pattinson is excellent and the tension can be felt throughout the two and a half hour. One minor detail that is not so great about this movie is that the dialogue is quite hard to catch as the background music is really loud, which I know is necessary because of the atmosphere it is trying to create here. Another thing is that personally I feel that the storyline can be extended a bit longer as the transition at the ending feels somewhat abrupt to me. Overall a great movie that definitely worth a second watch!
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
not a decent way to keep your main characters alive
The whole dothraki army just died in half a minute while our dear main characters can fight in the darkness each facing hundreds of the dead can still survive. Also, i guess the NK's bodyguards couldn't see clearly in this dark episode and now 8 years' build up of the NK has become a joke a joke to me.
