An absolute delight
6 November 2018
The film was exquisite. So rich in content, though there was no script. The dames were not disappointing and spoke candidly of their past experiences. At times, it touched on a bit of sadness due to the way things have led on, but in the end, it's about these marvellous women sharing their life with us.

Great material and visuals, but bad character development and story
14 May 2013
Personally, I thought it was gonna be great because the stereotype is that Thai horror films usually don't fail to impress. This one did unfortunately.

While the story arcs from different points of view were interesting, it failed to build any suspense and it leaves the audience in the air about it's direction. The visuals and premise were great to work with unfortunately the plot was not richly illustrated.

It also feels like it's ripping off another film made in Thailand like The Shutter. I could tell the writers really tried with this film to make it look multi-layered but it just disappoints in the end.

Overall, yes it was a let-down. But if you'd like to give it a shot, go ahead I guess... a decent movie date night maybe? :S

Twilight (I) (2008)

A great romance but a long-whinded one.
5 December 2008
Twilight did not effectively appeal to me because the film was TOO lengthy. Each scene seemed to have taken ages just to make a point. I mean, the movie cannot be too fast-paced or too tortoise-speeding. This sort of movie has to have a reasonable beat in terms of length. And the action scenes were too overwhelmed by the romance of the leading characters.

However, the film was great in terms of romance and love. It had this forbidden love thing, something like in Charmed, which I thought was great. The actors and the supporting cast were just right as well.

The pros and cons of this movie seemed to have balanced themselves out in this film. So I would say my reviews are mixed to generally favourable. A 5.5/10 for the film, but since this vote doesn't exist, I give it a 6 :P

A good popcorn flick...Nicole can obviously do thrillers
4 January 2008
Nicole Kidman's performance was good in the film. She delivered the character of Carol Bennell excellently. It's obvious she can act in any sort of movie. Well maybe except horror. Adding to that, the supporting cast was good as well. I thought Jackson Bond was quite perfect for the role. Overall, the movie did well but I must say I was disappointed with the way the director/writers rushed into the movie. It's like they were thinking "Gosh, let's get this over with!" If only it was longer, I would have liked it even more. And yes, the storyline was a bit simple. If it were to be more complex, I would've applauded the movie with a standing ovation.

No matter, the movie was good enough for me. I give it 7/10

Fantastic!
7 October 2007
Resident Evil Extinction is the third installment of the franchise which originated from the game. I sincerely loved this movie. AWESOME. The action was great. The stunts were superb and I thought the acting was good. I was kept at the edge of my seat when I was watching this movie. There were parts which made me jump a few centimeters of my chair. I also love it for its' elements of love, friends and sacrifice. Well, I was pleased with the writers choice of adding characters from the game such as Claire Redfield. Form the 2nd installment, Carlos Oliviera and Nemesis were introduced. I felt that the writers gave every character some say in the movie. Everything was clear and straight-forward. Nothing was fuzzy for me. Yes, I would definitely ask anyone to watch this movie. 8/10

Never seen the most predictable movie in my entire life
30 May 2007
Oh my goodness! I've not seen the most silliest show on Earth. It was so predictable. It's like "Here I come to rip out your heart!" and then "Oh, no!". You get what I mean? It was simply stupid. My friend paid RM12.90 for the original DVD, thinking it will be good. Boy, were we wrong! Oh and by the way, the lines were so corny and lame. It was a miracle I made it out fine.

But I have to say. The sources for rituals, witchcraft, fallen angels etc. of the movie was good. That compelled me but other than that, NOT AT ALL! Readers, do not watch this movie. You'll thank me, trust me. You haver no idea how speechless I am right now.

Bewitched (2005)

It was normal wit...
21 May 2006
A witch named Isabel Bigelow moved to the mortal world where no one really believes in magic. Furthermore, Isabel wanted a normal life but her father, Nigel Bigelow, is urging her to move back home to the magical world. Now, she met an actor named Jack Wyatt, who hired her to act in the TV series Bewitched. Soon they fall in love but there were some things blocking their relationship. But in the end they moved into a house opposite Abner Kravitz and Gladys Kravitz.

It didn't turn as I'd expected it would...quite disappointing. I was really hoping for Isabel Bigelow to be a hard, outgoing witch. But she turned out to be so innocent. And the script was quite dreadful and dull. I expected to laugh at every sentence. But no! Nevertheless, I do not think it is horrible, I do not think it is dreadful. There were some funny parts, though.

Splendid! Just simply Magical!
20 May 2006
Bewitched is one of the most elegant TV sitcoms I've ever watched. Samantha, a normal red-blooded American woman, which turns out to be a witch! One day, she kept bumping into a mortal man named Darrin. Quickly, both fell in love at once and got married. Samantha told Darrin that she was a witch which made him a little uncomfortable having married to a witch. Soon, he realizes he doesn't care whether she's a witch or not. He only cares for their love. BUT there's a catch......Darrin has to put up with his mother-in-law, Endora, a powerful well-known witch in the magical world and the rest of Samantha's elegant, classy family of witches and warlocks....

This story teaches a couple in real life that love is the most important in their relationship even though there are some obstacles in the way...Sadly, the actors and actresses in this TV show have all passed away...Dick York, Dick Sargent, Elizabath Montgomery, and Agnes Moorehead...rest in peace....

Faith Is The Key To All Your Answers
20 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
The Locket is a movie mainly about faith. Michael Keddington lost his mother due to lung cancer which made him devastated...not to mention his alcoholic father...Due to his doctor's advice, he decided to work in White wood, an old-folks home. There he was assigned to take care of a bitter reluctant old woman named Esther Huish. She didn't accept Michael at first but soon she found out that both of them had similar problems in their life. So she befriended him...guiding him in everything. She taught him how to forgive and how to have faith in everything he does. Shortly, after everything Michael was facing was solved, Esther died of old age along with other health problems.

This show has proved itself to be a remarkable Hallmark film. When I watched this spectacular movie, I was overwhelmed. It's all about romance, drama, and most importantly...faith. It's almost a crime to miss it. If you're from Malaysia, catch it on Hallmark channel Astro...

Malaysia has a bright, new hope in movie-making...
17 April 2006
I was always a prejudice in Malaysian movies. I have never in my life gave it a thought of watching a Malay movie. But when I watched this movie, Sepet, I was overwhelmed. I watched it five to seven times because it was so good. There were some witty parts and some sad parts. I love the parents and Kak Yam in this movie. They were hilarious. I liked the part where Jason was dancing at the first part of the movie until they were interrupted by one of the lonesharks...There was one part where Orked's parents were dancing. I also liked the part where Orked's parents were playing Scrabbles. Whatever it is, Yasmin Ahmad's hardwork for this movie was paid off when she won many international awards. Well, I'm certainly glad. Yasmin Ahmad, I salute you!
