The Hateful Eight (2015)
Mean bastards, you need to hang
Tarantino consistently captivates audiences with his meticulously crafted films, leaving no detail unexplored. His unparalleled ability to delve into the depths of human psyche and storytelling prowess manifests in every scene he constructs. What drives him to create such intricate narratives remains a mystery, yet his unmistakable passion for cinema shines through. Equally remarkable are the actors he selects, elevating his vision to unprecedented heights. Their performances under Tarantino's direction transcend conventional boundaries, embodying characters with unparalleled depth and authenticity. Together, Tarantino and his ensemble cast redefine cinematic excellence, setting a standard that few can rival.
Tarantino's mastery lies not only in his storytelling but also in his seamless integration of intricate plotlines, making even lengthy films feel like a cinematic breeze. Every aspect of his movies, from dialogue to action sequences, is intricately woven together, leaving no room for distraction. The narrative unfolds with such coherence and momentum that skipping even a moment feels unthinkable. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that viewers are fully immersed in the experience, effortlessly following the twists and turns of the story. In Tarantino's world, every scene serves a purpose.
12th Fail (2023)
Good for one time watch
The cinematography and production quality were commendable, bringing the rags-to-riches narrative to life with visual flair. The meticulous attention to detail in character portrayal aimed to ground the story in reality, making it a poignant experience for many viewers. However, the emotional resonance of the movie is subjective, and while it may not have resonated deeply with me, I can appreciate the effort invested in crafting a genuinely moving tale. The film's ability to captivate an audience emotionally may vary, and it's clear that personal preferences play a significant role in one's connection to the story.
Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Waste of time
Finish this paragraph for me : "Had this been a movie about swamps and backwaters, I would have liked it. I like nature and I like Nat Geo. Good combination. But if you're going to sell me this movie this is a good romantic drama filled with mystery and adventure... I want my refund.
The story was predictable. The main character was frustratingly dumb. And the oh-so-big drama was also predictable. The dialogue felt forced, and the chemistry between the lead actors was lacking authenticity. It's disappointing when a film promises a gripping romantic drama with mystery and adventure, only to deliver a clichéd storyline. The attempts at suspense fell flat, leaving me unengaged and wanting more from the plot. Overall, the film failed to live up to its ambitious genre blend, leaving me questioning the decision to invest my time and money in what turned out to be a lackluster cinematic experience.
12 Angry Men (1957)
Well-written, Well played
I didn't have much hope from a 1960s BW movie to begin with (prejudice). I thought that I had nothing better to do anyway, let's watch this movie, and, oh boy.
First of all, this one-scene movie has covered most bases of types of characters you can have in any group chat. The best part is that I know how challenging it is to have an unnimous vote on something where power and emotions cannot dictate the outcome. The script beautifully captures that.
Other than the way they carried the coversation, 15 minutes into this movie, I sat upright and started talking to the characters myself (weird). The move makes you think. It engages you. You start jogging regularly, and it becomes exciting and...
It is worth your time. Watch it.
Khoobsurat (2014)
Loved it !!!
Been such a long time since I have thoroughly laughed and fangirled so hard! Loved every bit!
Acting on point. Sweet, simple and absolutely adorable movie. The casting is on point too. The perfectly embodied their characters. The romance movie will all deserve.
If you're expecting some deep notebook level romance, don't get into this. This movie is like those unexplored amusement park rides, that you didn't know existed. And once, you get on, you're having the best day of your life.
Also, to people being cynical and nit-picky, c'mon, cut them some slack. This is a cute movie. Why does everything need to be rational ? Love isn't rational anyway. Just enjoy it!
The Godfather (1972)
Had to skip through it...
Just like everyone else I had also heard so much about this movie that it was in my watch list for a very long time.
Before I start waving about the cinematography and the background score, we need to acknowledge that this is a three hour movie. There was no suspense, thriller aur even drama that can hold my attention. If this was a 10 minute short film with the same script and camera. Great. But unfortunately that is not the case.
Despite the border I tried to watch the whole movie until the end, but it was a waste. The characters could have been depicted in a much better manner. Michael felt more like a person who is often confused than someone who had his head sorted. I was seriously questioning how the decided to depic the characters given that story is adopted from the novel.
Cheong-nyeon-gyeong-chal (2017)
Unexpected. Remarkable.
I randomly came across this movie. Had no prior idea of what to expect or what is it about. The summary was interesting though (Two police University students involved in kidnapping: Good enough when you're having a boring afternoon). Enough said, now onto the review.
There is a point in this movie where had it stopped it would have been one of those we-stick-to-reality movies but I am glad they didn't lose their potential till the end.
Was enjoyable as well as thrilling to see two young kids fighting their best to achieve in what they believe.
P.S.: DON'T MISS THE FINAL SCENE AFTER THE CREDITS
