Tashan (2008)
Tashan sucks from top to bottom....
I had some expectation for the movie, since it had a nice star cast and it is the return of the duo of Akshay and Saif. Well, I was hesitant to watch the movie because this was done by the same man who wrote the story for Dhoom franchise because I hated Dhoom 2; but if Dhoom 2 is compared to Tashan, I would say Dhoom 2 is very realistic.
When I saw the credits at the beginning, I felt nice because it was put up in a nice way. Well, the very first scene itself pis*ed me off. Then, the major drawback of the movie is the action sequences. Me and my friends were laughing our guts off watching this crappy fights. It was like Akshay against some 30 thugs and all and the thugs even got machine guns! Phew...you got to see this to understand how bad the action sequences are.
The other thing about the movie is the far too predictable story. It reminded me of some of the early 80's movies.
Well, the only thing the movie is worth is of sexy Kareena, who looked really hot in this one.And for that, I give a rating of 2 out of 10.
Guys, please..please...don't see this one thinking that it is a real gangster movie. Well, you can watch this to have some laughs at the terrible fight scenes.
Thats all.
Dhol (2007)
Dhol
I have seen the original one (In Harihar Nagar) & that made me see Dhol, because In Harihar Nagar was totally awesome! Even though In Harihar Nagar is more exciting than Dhol, still I feel this as a really good movie.
The story is about 4 friends - Sameer, Pankaj, Gautham & Markand who are good for nothing & want to be rich all of an instant without any effort. After trying to start a business ( & fails ), they get an idea of marrying a rich girl to be rich instantly. Thus Ritu comes to their life who is from a rich family & all 4 of them try their best to win her heart. The movie then goes with the guys trying to woo her & failing miserably. The story takes a turn at the second half & the second half is different from the original movie slightly.
Regarding the performances, Tusshar & Sarman Joshi were their usual self like in the previous multistarrers like Golmaal. The one who entertained me (unexpectedly) was Kunal Khemu. Rajpal Yadav was a little disappointing, but did a somewhat good performance. Whoever saw Dhol says Tanushree Dutta was terrible, but I don't complain about that because in the original flick, Gita Vijayan was far awful compared to Tanushri.
Overall, the movie is a good watch.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)
Don't miss this classic.
Even though I have seen the original movie (Manichithrathazhu), I was not bored by the movie. In fact, it was really interesting. Vidya Balan did justice to her role & Akshay Kumar was also excellent. The camera-work & locations are awesome. A correct balance between humor & horror has been kept. Shiny Ahuja & Manoj Joshi were also good. I think Amisha Patel overacted a little but still was good. Overall, I love the movie very much & it's a good thriller. I urge all those who loves good stories & scripts should watch this one. This is a sure blockbuster.
The music as well as background score has been done well. There are some spine chilling moments in the movie. Don't feel a little disappointed by the first half because second half is far far interesting than the first.
