SEAL Team (2017)
Not only about Navy Seals but the lives around them
I was surprised that I like this show as much as I do. We were behind a few yrs but husband was in a military kick one day so we watched a few movies then seen this. There is heartaches on top of such a manly style show. I think it kinda started for me when Jason's estranged wife Alana died. It was heartbreaking and shows you how you should always or try to have kind words when someone leaves to go to store or work or even bed b/c you might not see them again, and you can be stuck with a lot of guilt that will eat at you til you break. The closeness of the team which is mostly 6-7 men is great to watch and see how they have each others backs on the battle field. The relationships they go through weighs on not just themselves but the teammates too. We are only in the middle of 3rd season and the only couple I see that still has it together is Ray and his wife. Sonny, Clay and Jason can't find that one yet(Jason is trying after wife's passing but he might of started to soon). Also I think the missions seem so real. I keep wondering if being in their position is like on a real battlefield. Giving it an A+ for action. If you are interested in a military show added with relationship issues and friendship ups and downs then check this one out. Like I said it's more then battles the whole time. This is why I think a couple could watch b/c of the combination of plots.
The Integrity of Joseph Chambers (2022)
AWFUL with a capital A
I Don't even know where to begin. It started off like there was a story to it, but after he left and got the shotgun and truck from friend it went downhill from there. So to be honest the first 15 mins was starting to be interesting then it stopped. The next hr and 15 mins was a waste of time. Don't bother with this movie. If you have ever watched the movie NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN and agree that the ending which just stopped like this one did you'd be very correct. The story of this whole movie is that there's a guy named Joe that has a wife and 2 kids. He wants to go hunt to show his wife that he can do it but goes alone being impatient instead of waiting for his friend to go with him the following weekend. He finally gets to area his friend that he borrowed gun from has land to hunt. He gets to a deer stand in tree and falls asleep. Gets up and goes looking for a deer. The deer is to far away so he chases it. He gets startled and accidentally shoots a homeless man, eventually killing him. Joe bury's him but then has a lot of emotions going on to whether he made right decision. No words in a lot of movie. So Joe decided to take him to police station because the hospital wasn't an option at that time(the man was serverly wounded while Joe was digging a hole and the man got up and starting running yelling help. Joe caught up to him, they fight a few mins then Joe and him talk and Joe wants man to go to hospital but man refused
and guy dies.) then we spend a forever amount of time for Joe to drag body back down to hole then bury, semi clean himself up and unbury guy which now he takes to police station. Joe is froze and can't talk, sheriff was someone he knew, Joe never said what happened nor do we know anything else. The black screen comes on and you are like WTF are you kidding me. There's the story all typed out in less than a five-seven min read and comprehend. No need in watching movie. It wraps up nothing, that is nothing I tell you. If you want to sit And watch be my guest, you will be bored and end up with no closure. I did it with husband and we are ready to go to sleep at 9:30.
Stranger Things (2016)
Not what you are probably thinking
Seen this coming on yrs ago and it just looked like another young kids show fighting off monsters. I was wrong, it's in its 4th season and I'm biting at the nails for the last episode. Molly Bobby Brown plays her part so well that not hearing of her to her being this butt kicking girl is great. If you've ever watched The Umbrella Academy it reminds me of this. There's kids with superpowers and they go in and out of yrs. Stranger Things sets you in the 80's and it's cool looking at how the setting is b/c being a kid growing up as a young teen brings you back. Can't say I knew many of the actors, but they all mesh together well. Goes from kids at a lab with a dr who wants them to have superpowers and has never been out in there. Then the main character El as a young maybe 8 yr old gets out and can't really say words together and is so in aw that there's something else out there. Everything focuses on her character b/c the problem in the town she is at has a big secret boiling under them. There's a lot of gore in seasons 3 & 4. Also if you don't like at least 3 story lines going on in same episode, then it's not for you. Season 4 is so good with all the portals and what the kids go through. And the deaths that take place aren't your normal deaths, if you don't mind people being all broken and eyes pulled out then stay away lol. And it's not just a dumb kids show seeings we are 46 & 48 and love it. Plus check out The Umbrella Academy too, you can see what I mean that they resemble each other. Enjoy!!
Son (2021)
Trailer lies, movie so bad!!
We picked this because of trailer not from the 5.6 out of 10 stars, but we should of went with the latter. My husband and I watch movies that don't have good ratings if it looks interesting then we can vote for it ourselves. Son was one of the ones we shouldn't of listened to ourselves though. The first scene it looked very exciting to get to watch going in like it was gonna be decent. Then after first 5-7 mins 👇🏼 It went. It goes from boys birth to 8 yrs later in 5 mins. The acting just horrible, and Emile Hirsh looked like he lost a big bet to be in it and was told to just act like you can't be heard. Then the mom was just so alright you ate your babysitter no big deal. Now that I know what you are I'll get you a pimp to eat no big deal. They stayed in the seediest motels for an 8 yr old wasn't nice to see, but he was part of the devil. At the end of the day it made no since to keep watching trying to pull something good out of it. I think besides the story being dumb the acting was miserable to watch. But one thing the people that gave it 9's and 10's it's funny this only show they rated. I'm not a eater either but I think I have some on here, they lied to everyone.
Tom and Jerry (2021)
Not that good for an adult but good for a child
We just sat down with our seven yr old to watch the movie. It just wasn't what I had expected. Sure some might think great and I see a lot of 9 and 10 stars but if we are talking seriously it surely isn't true. My son said he'd give it a five out of ten because he laughed at a few parts, but he said meh it was ok but not good. He liked Tom and Jerry and when they were running around fighting like they do in the cartoons. This movie mainly focused on a wedding and a girl trying to get a job at the hotel. There's a lot of distraction by the others that Tom and Jerry really didn't shine. It shouldn't of been called just Tom and Jerry because they were not the main topic. You do get to see some of the cartoon bickering and those were good, but very few and far between. Just wasn't like I said what I expected. And glad we didn't spend money because it was on HBO max that we have. I just wished they gave focused more to the main two characters. Hope this helps some people out there without giving away spoilers.
