A Partilha (2001)

Lots of fun!
24 June 2001
Good movie! The four main characters and the stories among them are captivating! It's a lot of fun to watch them argue about who gets some little plastic tea cups that they had when they were kids. The acting job is terrific! The four leading actresses are good and natural in the movie. The director did a good job with them; however, it's not flawless directing, some stories are not well explained and you keep wondering what happened; but these stories are not important for the movie to make sense and the audience has a good time. Recommended for everyone who wants to have fun!

Bad movie, but fun for kids at that time
24 March 2001
That's one of the worst movies ever made, Bad directing, bad soundtrack and really, and I mean really bad acting. But it was never meant to be a good movie, it was supposed to be a movie for kids at 1990. The movie gathers a lot of child idols and they deliver what they were supposed to. It's really terrible, but everybody who was a kid at that time loved it.

I've seen this kind of movie before
9 March 2001
I watched this movie and I really can't tell how did it get 5 Academy Awards Nominations. There's nothing special, original or innovating about this movie. It's just a nice story, that makes us feel good and that's it. There are countless movies just like that, as deep as this one, and they also don't deserve nominations. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad movie, it's well made. Good acting, good directing and a nice story. That's it, nothing more. There's nothing bad about the movie. But, as soon as you walk out the theater, you lose all the sensations you might have had while watching the movie. Except for the great need to have some chocolate.

Great mythological work
9 March 2001
Wonderful animation. It has a quality of drawing that's extremely good for 1986. And, not just that, it has great stories and well developed characters. The mythology around it is wonderfully used and mixed into the world as we know. It's admirable how they managed to mix Greek Mythology with Nordic Mythology in some part of the series. Although it's all mythical, the characters are extremely human, with feelings, conflicts and all the discoveries everybody goes through in life. This series was a big success everywhere it was shown, and it deserves it. Saint Seiya is one of the best Japanese animation series ever. And it's a great introduction to the world of animes. Fans of Greek Mythology are going to go berserk.

Admirable

M. Night Shyamalan proves again to be a brilliant writer and director, this time, he did even better than The Sixth Sense, doing a much more human movie. Samuel L. Jackson shows what we all know: He is a wonderful actor. Bruce Willis also does good, which is due to Shyamalan, showing he does excellent directing with actors, he knows how to make them give their best performance. But what is really admirable about this movie, is that Shyamalan, with the success of The Sixth Sense, had the liberty to make any kind of movie he wanted. In every second of the movie, you notice Shyamalan's passion for comics. Just ask comics fans, everyone I know who loves comics (myself included), LOVED the movie. Shyamalan did this movie for the comics, nothing else, not caring if people would like it or not, and, to gain this kind of liberty to make HIS movie, is an extraordinary admirable thing. And I must congratulate Mr. Shyamalan for that.
