Last Holiday (2006)

Excellent, heart warming, good laughs & feel good........

I just picked up the movie on a hunch that it would be a feel good movie for a lazy Saturday night.

It turned out much more than that - in fact really wonderful.

Its well paced, with good laughs placed at right intervals and an inspiring story line which leaves you yearning to live life king size once again...........

I loved the movie for the fact that it was a good watch - but loved it more because it helped me to feel good about life itself..........

Folks who love only watching award winning movies & serious movies etc etc & like to feel superior because they do not share the same tastes as us poor mortals - go with an open mind, a smile & a big bag of popcorn - & u will love it !!! Just watch it for yourself! I promise I wont tell anybody:-))

The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Meryl Streep all the way.................She is so WOW!

Good, fast paced movie with some excellent & vintage Meryl Streep.

She does an amazing job as Miranda Priestly - the exacting editor in chief of Runway - a best selling fashion magazine. By the end of the movie you will be so in awe of her acting - the way she just got into the skin of the character & each gesture & nuance spells excellence - A treat to watch.

Others have a done a good job - but Meryl Streep steals the show! I had not read the book earlier - nor did I know that the book is supposed to be based on Anna Wintour of Vogue........& I enjoyed the movie for the movie itself.

Its a good, entertaining watch & will ensure a good evening out.....

Akeelah and the Bee (2006)

Funny, Touching & feel good movie that touches your heart ........

Movie is about having faith in yourself, doing your best and respecting others and team spirit & so many of those good things that make the world a better place to be in.

Its endearingly funny at the right places & tugs at your heartstrings at the others.

One thing that comes out strongly at the end of the movie is the mix of races that the movie uses in its characters - you have all the races that you can possibly show visibly in a movie coming together to weave a story.

Looks politically correct by giving prominence to some of them & very brief glimpses of the others................in that the movie failed to be totally a global one ( if it was trying for that kind of message to get across).

Otherwise - a good movie to take your kids & talk to them about it - watch it yourself alone ( you feel a cockles of your heart warming up & staying warm for the rest of the day) or go with a good friend & then talk about the movie, the implications, the message - basically have a good and stimulating conversation over a cup of coffee & a cookie..............

Enjoy the experience!

Amazing movie - would give it a 10.

Fast paced, never a dull moment - rib tickling funny.

Those who see movies after seeing ratings - Please - this once check this movie out before u see the ratings..........You will never regret it!! Worth every minute of it!!!!!!

Comedy is so difficult to get right - often gets stretched & repetitive in many comedy movies. Not so in this one - Its been timed to perfection & makes it worth the watch & a memorable experience!

The original character & feel of a play has been maintained throughout & carefully woven into a movie & at no point would it disappoint a movie audience who may /may not like plays.........beautiful balance between the "play" & the "movie"!

Do watch it.
