Vikings: Valhalla: The Reckoning (2023)
Good ending but there is something that bothered me!
I love how they didn't butcher freydis's role like they did to floki in original Vikings cuz I thought she is going to be just like floki with her beliefs and stuff at the beginning of the sebut they tuned it around pretty well.
Leif's journey to learn languages and learn more about the world is good touch and the beginning of turning the Vikings into knowledgeable human beings (in other words turning vikings into Scandinavian humans with decent knowledge)
Harald's journey to become the king of Norway is nice since this season was full of challenges that faced him and he is still pushing without surrendering.
Now to the part that bothered me. Leif falling in love with Mariam was nice and made sense after Liv's death but Harald falling in love with Eleana while Freydis is still alive and she has his child was so stupid and made no sense at all. I mean why would he fall in love with a woman after just recently hearing that he has a child. I know that Freydis didn't want Harald to be by her side since she doesn't want a christian child to rule over pagans and the show wants you to think that they will never be back together again. But let's be real they will at some point. The differences between religions can be sorted out and they could live together, even if that means travelling every now and then between Kattegat and Jomsburg back and forth.
Anyways my point is that you can't make a character fall in love with another when that character just recently left his girlfriend and his son. Falling in love with someone else would be acceptable if they gave us time to believe that he has really forgotten about his girlfriend and started a new love life. What they did was too rushed and didn't make us believe that he's over his old girlfriend and child.
House of the Dragon: The Princess and the Queen (2022)
Good episode but not great
The first half of the episode was bad in my opinion. I mean the jump that happened from the last episode when rhaenyra was in in love with christon cole to this episode where she has 3 kids with a character that we've never seen before is just weird. The episode got better as soon daemon appeared on screen.
The second half of the episode immediately got better when we look at the charisma of Daemon Targaryen and the death of his wife which was a good scene and a touching one and the scene where raenyra's son asks his mother if harwin is his father was a great scene too. So these scenes bumped the rating up.
I really miss the young actors and actresses who play rhaenyra, alicent and laenor. But the older actors and actresses did a great job for their first episode and I hope they can surprise us in future episodes.
For me, all of the other episodes were a solid 9 and the previous one was a 10, but this one takes a 7.5 or an 8. It felt rushed but acting, directing, overall plot and CGI were great.
House of the Dragon: Second of His Name (2022)
Daemon Targaryen!!!
This episode wasn't the best that we've seen on TV, I would give it a 7-8 rating.
We were literally watching people chasing animals in this episode with good dialogue (not the best dialogue but still, it was good. First two episodes had better dialogues).
Then comes Daemon Targaryen in the last 10 mins of the episode and bumped up my rating to a 9.
The writers are still building up characters which gives me high hopes for the future of this show.
I hope we see more of Daemon Targaryen and I hope they do not kill him off in the first season just like what they did to N. Stark first season of GOT. I would love to see him in the next seasons.
Westworld: Metanoia (2022)
Why are you rating it now?!
The episode hasn't aired yet and 26 people rated it with an 8.6 total rating as of the moment I'm writing this review. Please stop rating episodes before they air no matter what show/movie you are seeing.
Ms. Marvel: Time and Again (2022)
An average episode
This episode was fun at times and boring at other times but I give it a rating of 7 except it dropped one because there is a huge miss directing no one can miss, The scene where Najma told Aisha that you will return the bangle by sundown tomorrow and Sana in that night was an infant. The next scene which is supposed to be the next day, they were packing up to leave the country and we see Sana is a toddler now. She literally aged 1-3 years by one night only. This scene made me sooo frustrated.
Better Call Saul: Nippy (2022)
I was waiting for this episode all season 6!
Gene's story started in season 1 with one scene each episode and since the beginning of season 5 after that first scene of the first episode, I really wanted to know how will Gene fix the unexpected mess he got into. This episode showed us what he did and I really like it. I hope that's not the end for Gene's story. I enjoy these episodes/scenes of post breaking bad not only Saul's story which is pre breaking bad.
The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
Great episode!
It was a fun episode to watch although nothing really happened this entire season. Everything that happened in the finale of season 2 stayed the same in the finale of season 3. They changed things mid season but reverted them back to where we were at the end.
Even tho this might seem a bad review but it isn't. I really like the show and wouldn't like it to end in just 3 seasons. I mean that is why we are watching a "TV show" not a "movie". You can make the boys into a movie by killing homelander at the end and that's it. The movie is done. But when it's a TV show you have to extend things to enjoy it more.
You can't simply say you haven't had fun throughout this episode. It was a well directed and a well acted episode. The fight scenes were amazing with really great visuals.
Maeve's ending was great in my opinion because the explosion that happened didn't really made me feel emotional about her dying. And let me tell you this, I'm a really sensitive person when it comes to shows and movies. But sending her off the show with her lover and no powers puts a smile on my face. If she died due to the explosion I wouldn't have had the smile nor the tears on my face.
Starlight discovered more powers in herself and now she can fly. That may be one of the only new things they added to the show this season. And Ryan now loves his father and would rather be with him than with butcher, that's another thing that happened this season that wasn't there in previous seasons.
Butcher turned on Soldierboy which indicates he is still a human deep inside and can't tolerate the death of a child. This will turn Butcher completely in the next season.
I love the show and would like it to end but not in the near future. I really think the next season will be it's final season although I don't really want it but if the next season was just like this season with no real progression, then that's where I would give it a very low rating. If they can extend it to 5 seasons or more then I would like progression to the story. One filler season I tolerate but two? That's where I draw the line. I really think the next season will be the show's last cuz I don't think the writers can add more to the story. We are near the end and homelander must die in the end. I hope they prove me wrong tho and give us a diabolical season with so much progression to the story without actually ending the show just to see more of this amazing cast and this amazing show.
Better Call Saul: Point and Shoot (2022)
What a strong episode!!!
Vince Gilligan never disappoints. I thought the first episode is going to be a build up episode for a huge event later in the series, but wow they literally killed off Lalo Salamanka in the first episode of this part. Well that was a huge twist. When Gus shot him I thought he didn't die or he got away, but no, he was actually killed. We all knew he was going to die eventually but to kill him off literally in the first episode of this part was unexpected, but so great. And burying the bodies under the meth lab is a whole another story!!! Walter White and Jessie have been working on top of two corpses?!?! WOW!!! Killing off the main antagonist of the show in mid season shows how confident Vince is in delivering a masterpiece of a show. Can't wait for the next episode!!!
Westworld: The Passenger (2018)
The finale wasn't satisfying!!!
I'll try to be brief as much as possible.
Westworld is a show where complexity is a huge part of it and we all love it's complexity. Up until episode 9 we gained answers for almost all questions. So I thought we would get the rest of the answers in episode 10 but what really happened is that it made us ask even more questions. I get when a show leaves a question or two unanswered for the next season but you can't leave like 10+ questions.
This episode really made me question my own reality.
If I'm going to give a rating for this episode purely for it's plot, then I would give it a 5 maybe but I rated the episode 7 since there are a lot of epic shots with very good acting.
Westworld: Akane No Mai (2018)
Filler episode but enjoyable
This episode is a filler episode, if you skip this, you won't feel the difference. I mean the whole episode is retelling you the story of Maeve and her associates but in a Japanese version. Yes It didn't add anything to the story but it was fun to watch and the directing was awesome. So giving it a rating of 8 is fair I guess.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
One of the best marvel movies!!!
This movie is better than spider man no way home. That doesn't make spiderman a bad movie however. They are both super great but let's be honest here. People wanted to see variants that had an appearance in previous marvel movies to call this movie a 10/10. I mean that's what spider man did, imagine spiderman without the two spider men from before, people wouldn't love the movie as much as they did even tho it's a fantastic movie. The rumours of having like 9999+ characters from different marvel movies appearing in this single movie with a lot of different variants, made the movie disappointing for a lot of people since only two characters from marvel movies other than the mcu appeared. Don't trust rumours because you will get disappointed when you see that they aren't true.
Zodiac (2007)
BORINGGGG!!!
The first movie I've ever stopped and never complete. I mean where is the suspense that they are talking about? I couldn't care less who the killer is.
