Prime (2005)
alright
I was hoping this movie would be really good because I really like Bryan Greenberg who plays the lead role. But, it wasn't really up to par. I don't think there was enough chemistry between Uma Thermon and Bryan Greenberg; they seemed sort of awkward together. I liked the supporting characters. Merle Stripe did a great job with her role. I think the script was a little weak parts of it were unbelievable. I thought the music was good and I liked the friend who threw the pies in the faces. I thought that part was funny. I think the best part of the movie was the end that part seemed very realistic. Another part I really liked was that Bryan Greenberg lives with his grandparents. This was not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was enjoyable.
The Goonies (1985)
30 times!
This is one of the best childhood adventure films of all times. I've probably seen it at least thirty times. I used to watch it at least once a month. The story of a motley crew of kids searching for treasure to save their town is just so enthralling. I love all the characters. They all have a memorable characteristic and a quotable line. I love that the villain is a scary old lady and her mama's boy sons. The acting is great, the picked the cream of the crop in child stars. I love the Babyruth part, and when mama Fertteli pulls the pearls out of mouths mouth! Also the kissing scene is priceless. I think this is a movie everyone should see. I fall in love with it again every time I watch it. It's funny and exciting and just one of those cheesy feel good 80's films you can't live without.
Trainspotting (1996)
again and again
When I think hot guy, I think tight yellow t-shirt that bares a little midriff and tight striped pants. How Ewan McGregor's character scored wearing an outfit that looks like it was a hand me down from beetle juice I'll never understand, but he does look good throughout this movie. I think the guy who plays sick boy is cute to. Something about misfit junkies does it for me. I think Trainspotting is a fabulous film. I like the story, I like how it is shot, and the acting is great. There are definitely a couple of nasty moments, but you can always fast forward. I like when Ewan's character is setting up to go through detox and he has a bag full of random food and tools he thinks he will need to get him of drugs. The girl who Ewan goes home with is such a bad ass and her dress was really cool. Though I'm not so sure about the twist with her being underage played out. I found it a bit creepy. This movie is great; everyone should either own it or at least have watched it because to me it is something you are going to want to see more than once.
How I Met Your Mother (2005)
good show
I really like this show. I think it will take a little for it to catch on. I believe it's in it's second season. The chemistry between the cast is really good. Sean Patrick Harris who is more commonly know for his role as Doggie Howser is great as the swinging morel-less bachelor. All the characters are very endearing it is kind of a replacement for friends, and as far as sitcoms on television go it's a really good one. So many of the new shows have bad story lines and the cast has no character, but "How I met your Mother" always makes me laugh. The writers are really clever. I like the bar they always go to. It makes for a really funny atmosphere. I think this show is definitely worth watching, I hope it stays on the air for a long time, but I know it will have to fight against the crappy reality television. "How I met Your Mother" is a keeper!
The Abandoned (2006)
a little rough
I was fully disgusted by the pig eating human flesh scene. I mean I've always thought pigs were gross, but after that I am convinced. I thought this movie was alright. The haunted house was really cool they did a really good job with the set design. Every part of the house was creepy, and I like how they showed the old truck that she got to the house in all broken down. It was at that point that I realized they probably wouldn't be getting out of there. I think the acting was good, but I wish there would have been a little more character development on the writing end of the spectrum. I think with a little more dilouge we could have grown much more attached to the characters. I liked that the theme of being Abandoned was carried out threw the whole movie. At times the two main characters abandoned each other. Marie was abandoned at the house, and she in turn abandoned her own daughter. I think this movie was a cool idea but it sort of seemed like a rough draft. I enjoyed it but I think with some tweaking it could have been really good.
