Potential sorely unfulfilled
15 February 2016
First: the parts I liked. The plot and the before story were both great, and done just right to show how the protagonist got to where he is at. Although more time was spent on this than with some other movies, I personally did not feel that it was overdone.

Now for the part that ruined this movie for me -

I feel that the gross humor and profanity was way overdone, which was quite disappointing. I think it would have been a much better movie, and appealed to a much broader audience if that had been dialed back a few notches. Pay very close attention to the 'R' rating. This is definitely not for the kids or younger teens.

Mildly Interesting
12 December 2001
The acting in this was good, on par with what you would expect from the caliber of the cast.

As for the story line, the only creative part was that the widow suffered from acute anxiety, and thus had quite the challenge in order to complete the bargain she made with her late husband.

After that, it was pretty trite.

Recommended for a feel-good family fare.

Trite

Similar story line, done many times before, and this was no improvement.

15 minutes into this, and you should pretty much be able to turn it off - the ending was deja vu all over again.

The only morals I could see out of this are: - stupidity + criminals do not equal success - if he screwed you before, he's gonna do it again

Awful
2 May 2001
I'm trying to think of who this movie would appeal to....

Nope, can't think of anyone.

The plot was trite, the storyline, acting and directing were all quite amateurish, and the action/violence were both a little over the top. Sprinkled into all of this were a few bouts of nudity, but the eye candy was definitely not of either the quality or quantity to make up for all its deficiencies.

Horrible
25 April 2001
This is absolutely the worst movie I've seen all year.

First, I will say that the acting was very good, and by all of the cast.

This was apparently meant to be very offbeat, and in that regard it succeeded. By the same token, the story revolves around a self-centered wannabe, who is a clueless, talentless chronic liar, whose source of self confidence comes from a pair of leather slippers.

This was worse than watching a car wreck.

Less than what you'd expect from Traci
4 April 2001
Story line - very poor

Acting - mediocre to poor

Character Development - very little

Violence - heavy

Sex & Nudity - NONE

Tough cop Traci takes on a very bad drug dude, and in the end, she's the last cop still standing, mostly because it's her arrogance and stupidity that got the others killed. The best comedy moment (not intended to be funny) is when she seriously wonders what it was that she did wrong.

I expected the overall quality of the flick to be poor, and so wasn't disappointed in that regard. However, I was expecting a certain amount of eye candy, and the best this movie provided was a girl on a bicycle wearing a thong bikini. Doesn't Traci realize that nudity is the only reason her fans put up with the other inadequacies?

Traci is actually not a bad actress, but if she really wants to go mainstream and keep her clothes on, she needs to start hanging out with a better class of writers and directors. Continuing to be in forgettable flicks like this is what she's doing wrong.

hokey, hokey, hokey
3 April 2001
If you haven't had your dose of hokey lately, this is the movie for you!

Hokey acting, hokey story line, hokey action scenes.

It will also be entertaining for those that like to pick out movie errors, as they abound in this flick!

In trying to concentrate on the positives, I can come up with only one - there are non-stop action and fight scenes for the violence junkies. For those of you that like a little T&A mixed in with their action flicks, there is one very brief gratuitous flash (don't blink or you'll miss it).

All in all, this is definitely a guy's movie, as the body count easily went into triple digits.

Definitely Different
22 March 2001
I liked this movie, although I will also admit to being strange. I should also mention that I didn't like it until the ending.

What had been a very, very strange sequence of illogical events, gradually became cohesive and understandable during the last 10 minutes.

The old adage "If you've seen one, you've seen 'em all" definitely does not apply to this movie. If you're very closed-minded and opinionated as to how things should be, you won't like this at all, because it seems to never progress in a normal fashion. I guess that is what I liked about this, it had the courage to take the road less traveled, and it also took every opportunity to poke fun at itself.

very, very lame
21 March 2001
If you like occasional nudity with junior high school level slap stick comedy, then look no further.

Starting at about the halfway point, the beautiful and erotic Arielle Dombasle starts disrobing at every opportunity. That is the only thing that made this movie worth watching.

The story is both lame and preposterous, the humor is corny, and character development is basically non-existent.

Second Honeymoon (2001 TV Movie)

Boring drivel
14 March 2001
It was very disappointing to see Roma participate in such a poor excuse for a movie. It appeared to me that she was trying to break away from being typecast, but I really wish that she had done it with better material.

The seeming moral of this movie is that you can take a couple that is drifting hopelessly apart, strand them on a deserted island for a couple of days, and then they can live happily ever after. What a great concept! With enough deserted islands, who needs Dr. Laura?

One thing that continually went through my mind was why she tried so hard to save this marriage? Her husband was a selfish loser, and a philanderer wannabe, giving the rest of us men a bad reputation. I was rooting for her to dump him the whole time. The worst part of this movie was the fact that he never repented or reformed.

On the plus side, there were several good laughs, it was for the most part quite wholesome, everyone does eventually live happily ever after, and the beautiful Roma put in a good performance as always. It can definitely be categorized as light, humorous, family entertainment.

Lame and boring
5 March 2001
This is a great movie for pre-teens, but no one else.

There is no violence, no sex, no profanity or anything else offensive, in the end good wins over evil, the good guy gets the girl, and everyone lives happily ever after.

For anyone more mature than 12, the acting was bad, the plot and storyline were worse.

Typical Shannon Tweed movie
1 March 2001
This was typical for a Shannon Tweed movie in that the basic components were several beautiful naked women, frequently love scenes, a little bit of a story line, and some acting.

On the other hand, this one did stand out with the utilization of a guitar-strumming narrator, and use of some old-fashioned text narrative, which added a tongue-in-cheek flavor.

With a good, judicious use of humor (particularly in one of the early love scenes), this could definitely be classified as a mellow-drama, which I consider a strong point in its favor - it didn't take itself seriously!
