Why the Heck Did I Buy This House? (2022)
Fun watch
As someone who recently bought a home that needs some work I really enjoyed the first episode of this show. Look forward to seeing more. Kim did a good job. I knew her from Survivor so it was interesting to see her more in her element here.
Welcome to Plathville (2019)
Interesting to say the least
All of the family members have flaws, as they are real people. I think the show vilifies the parents a bit too much. Yes they are strict, but they have good intentions i think. Have watched about 10 episodes and I find Olivia to be the most interesting character because her flaws are so pronounced. She's self-righteous, pretentious, arrogant, uncaring (doesn't take her husbands feelings into account almost ever) and yet she's completely unaware of any of this. The reason she can't get along with the mother is because they are both super stubborn and strong willed, and put their pride above the happiness of Ethan. Overall the show is watchable but cringeworthy.
The Circle (2018)
Show is watchable
Overall the show is good, but series 1 is made almost unwatchable because of one players grating personality.
The Circle (2020)
Fans of Big Brother will enjoy this
It's an interesting twist on the BIg Brother type reality shows. The contestants don't meet face to face, and all interactions and eliminations are done via a social media app called The Circle.
Pros:
it's a brand new reality show so it will be fun to see how the strategy develops.
Diverse casting
Players can play as anything they want and essentially catfish the other contestants
Cons:
i personally think the game, especially the ranking system, needs some tweaks
I wish they played in teams of 2 so there were some on screen face to face interactions. Each teammate could even have their own profile, but they would live in the same apartment. Just spitballing.
Overall the show is enjoyable. And is keeping me busy between Survivor seasons.
Lights Out with David Spade (2019)
Spade's great as always but...
I really hope they don't fall into the "diversity" trap and try to always have equal part male, female, black, white, etc. Just have the funniest guests you can find. Don't worry about their race. Even in the first 2 episodes it seems like the casting director is more concerned with being woke than casting the funniest comedians. The 2 girls in episode 2 were painfully unfunny.
I think Spade is always incredibly funny and can do a good job at saving their terrible jokes, but he could be even funnier if he was playing off other talented ppl like Colin Quinn, Chris Rock, Jim Norton, and others of that caliber.
