Saving Grace (2007–2010)

Cut too much
20 April 2023
It took me awhile to get used to this show. When i was single in the 70s and it was safer than any+ther time, Grace would have been one of my friends. We did many of the sme things and so did our friends. We werent in Okjahoma we were in Fort Lauderdale and everone single was on the same page. So i cant be critical of Grace at all but she is something. I heard that they cut a lot of the shows that they were going to and then the people in charge told how they were going to wrap it all up and they didnt cancel it outright. Thank goodnes because ending was great which makes me sad for the wpisodes that sidnt get made because of the people who were just too uptight to keep watching. The actors were ll wonderful but i have to say my favorite actor ws Leon Rippy for several reasons. Ive seen him in many things but this showed him closer to wht he was like but i'm not sure but it seems right. Another reason is that my husband was born the same as Leon and also in Rock Hill. He even played footbll with him when they were younger. I almost didnt believe him until he said you sont forget a namelike Leon Rippy.. Anyway, i have loved him in everthing he has been in but this is my favorite and i wish the series had been longer.

Another good show gone!
30 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed all the regular characters of this first year and then what-you spoiled it. I liked some of thecharacters on the second season but it wasn't as spooky and fast paced. Plus I really think you missed the ball when you wasted the Jess/Jack hookup. There was a lot of steam coming off of them when Jess was not as snarky and Jack was not acting so arrogant. It was hot and you missed it. Too bad.

By the way. You didn't have to be psychic to see the end.

Take care of the Bird
8 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't able to watch the whole show but it's recorded so I'll watch it again. I suppose I had this reaction to the episode because my husband and I had a parrot foir 29 years and it died about 2 years ago. I wasn't expecting the reaction but I had it. When Lowe started being nice to the bird after his realization of how he offended it, I could see that the bird wanted him to rub his head. It was fluffed up and the bird was holding it down a little and then when it started talking like his wife and said, I love you honey, it just brought back an avalanche of feelings for our bird and what this bird was trying to show. Parrots are extremely intelligent and there is no end to the feelings they feel and show. I know it would have been difficult to have the bird as another character but when he went over to uncover it I knew what he would find. Just what I found when my bird passed away. I love this show because of the characters and all their stories. This was one of those poignant parts that make up the whole episode and make it so special.

BTW the bird was beautiful.

Any Day Now (1998–2002)

Twenty years later!
25 February 2022
I started watching this about 2 years ago when I found START channel on broadcast TV. I had never heard of it before and I was still working. I've been retired for 20 years as a schoolteacher now and just discovered this show. START just keeps showing their shows and when it's finished they start it again. And I keep watching! I love everything about the show and I ADORE the two main characters! Ihave friends best friends I've been in contact with for 50 years (we are around 75) and we laugh and joke, cry and we have depressed times and just bummed out times. We all don't live nearby anymore but we visit and it's just the same as when we were younger.

Ok-so what's the point? Why wouldn't this be just as good 20 years later? I think it would be better than redoing the whole show with other actors in the roles. I'd love to see what happens to these characters in their future. Most of all I love the chemistry between Annie Potts and Lorraine Tousaint. I've watched them in any role they are in and enjoy them but in the back of my mind I'm thinking Any Day Now. So how about it. I can't be the only one who thinks this way. Today I was watching the episode when ME finds out Collier slept with someone in high school and Bill finds out about Renee's short marriage in Las Vegas. When the song came on to remind ME and they both started singing. That was genius. Ask any woman how often something like that happens!

I guess I better buy the DVD so I can watch it whenever I need to.

MEDIUM- - TEN YEARS LATER
8 February 2021
That final Medium was very disappointing. But hey, it's only 10 years. Get the main characters back and put them in the jobs you wanted for them. You can do that. Since the pandemic isn't over yet you can carefully write some new stories using the kids more than when they were younger. I'm sure all Medium lovers would tune in and you could show it on any of the new channels! What a great idea don't you think. None of the mains are playing on any other shows except maybe DaValos. Sorry I can't remember his name but I sure recognized him on some other shows like The Closer or Major Crimes. Come on writers. I'm sure you've run into some story ideas that would have been great on Medium. It would be a hit and if nothing more it would be great on syndication.

THINK ABOUT IT. EVERY FAN WOULD LOVE IT AND WE ARE STILL AROUND. I WATCH IT EVERY DAY ON START TV AT 12:00. That's an antenna channel that I watch instead of Directv.

End of Series
24 November 2020
The end? How can this be the end of the series? I want to watch every week of their lives! I want to see how Turk and Renee deal with their daily lives now that they're married. This was such a terrific show and it could have gone on much longer. This ended in 2002 and it deserved a longer life. The main cast members in my opinion were very under used. Maybe I just didn't recognize the talent that they both have. I do enjoy seeing Annie Potts on Young Sheldon and I like seeing Lorraine Tousante in whatever she is in but they re so wonderful together That I wonder why no one tried another show with the two of them again. I will miss seeing more stories of their life in Birmingham.

A Treasure
13 October 2020
I can't believe I never even heard of this show! If it hadn't been for this Start Network on a non cable channel I still wouldn't have found it. We pay a fortune for DirecTV and I'm watching free shows on an antenna. What's wrong with this picture. Any Day Now is definitely a treasure of a show. With Lorraine Touisant and Annie Potts it should have been given more than 88 episodes. The writing is great especially with the actors that were chosen for this series. It takes place in Alabama at the start of the Civil rights movement and it's about two young girls who have become best friends. One is white and one is black and the stories, some parts in the past and also in the present make up the plot of every show. The stars of the young Renee and ME (Mary Elizabeth) are both terrific actors too. Each episode I have seen so far is a treasure. The supporting actors are ones you have probably seen before in other roles and they really shine in this series. The episode I just watched was about them going back to a high school reunion which most people can identify with no matter how many years go by. If you haven't seen this show yet try to make a plan to see this wonderful hidden treasure.

Major Crimes: Out of Bounds (2012)

Out of Bounds
3 September 2020
This episode and the previous one, Citizens Arrest, show the major differences between The Closer and Major Crimes. The Closer is definitely Brenda Centric and Major Crimes gives all the characters their 'time in the sun." That's what I like about it because I enjoy all the characters and the new recruit, Sikes, is a pleasant addition. She fits right in! After watching repeats of th Closer which I enjoy, Brenda's personality can get on my nerves because she usually does whatever will make her case, regardless of whatever else is going on. She never thought of anyone besides herself and I don't think someone like Fritz put up with that except that she would hop in the sack with him at a moments notice which is what he liked probably. Her putting her family second maybe taught her a lesson later on in the series. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series because the writers are getting a chance to explore each of the characters storyline and expand on it.

Thank goodness for reruns!
25 July 2020
I never watched Gagney and Lacey during its first run but I discovered it just recently on START TV which is over the air using an antenna. I'm paying Directv and watching this channel almost exclusively! I'm glad I discovered it finally. I'm really enjoying the episodes that deal with problems that are still around after all this time. It's also interesting to see how the women detectives are treated when there weren't many around. The shows are really good and I'm enjoying it so much. I know the show had problems at first with different actresses but once they got it straightened out it was a winner. I wish they had produced twice as many episodes.

Too close for comfort
27 April 2020
Great timing for this show! It's 4/27/20, the year of Corona virus-Covid 19. Only difference is we have a buffoon for a president who only approves money for his rich buddies and doesn't know how to prepare for a national emergency. (Oh well, don't listen to me. I've only been staying at home in isolation for the last 5 weeks with no end in sight!)

Native Americans

This was a great episode! We need many more like this to show what awful things the settlers from Europe who settled this land imposed on the people who were already here. So many wrong things were done to them and no one should forget them. Of course, this is still going on one way or another with no end in sight. Keep these episodes coming. Thank you.

Musical
17 February 2020
Love this show. I always love these musicals that try to make it on TV. I have the first season of Cop Rock. It's so surprising and rewarding to see these actors dancing and/or singing in addition to just acting. Of course they always get cancelled no matter how much,I love them! Please keep this on longer than usual.

Warning: Spoilers
This is such a powerful episode that I've watched several times and each time I appreciate it more. Everyone's acting is great along with the story but also the actor who plays Turell, Ace Gibson, did an outstanding job playing a cold-blooded killer one minute and a sympathetic victim the next. Very tight episode.

Love this show!
7 December 2018
I never got into the Big Bang theory but I watched this show from the beginning. I think it's terrific and love all the characters and the actors who play them. I have especially enjoyed the Annie Potts and Wallace Shawn story. It is so sweet and funny. Please keep their little love affair going. Actually, all the writing is very clever and funny for every character. I have even started to watch the "parent" show even though I know this is the last season. I still prefer Young Sheldon. Please don't let them cancel it.

FBI

I really like many things bout this show, the actors, their characters, and their story lines. Each show has been very exciting even though we may have seen the basic premise on another FBI show. Every time I like a show it gets cancelled but please don't cancel another show with Sela Ward! I love to see her and I try to watch whatever she is in. I also like Jeremy Sisto and all the others even if I don't know their names yet!

Warning: Spoilers
This is not a review but I couldn't find a place for comments. This is one of my favorites so I have nothing to add, other than at the very end of this episode, Phoebe enters the manor with her very short, haircut. We don't see that again until the new owner of the paper shows up, I think. So obviously, this part was filmed way out of order. That's all.

A+ for Ben
25 March 2018
I am not a fan of Ben Affleck, probably because he looks like my ex- brother-in-law. However this is the best movie I have seen him in. I love this movie and I agree with all the good reviews it got. The negative reviews I can't believe. My ex-husband was a CPA and while we were married all those guys would have loved this movie. He would have too but he passed away in 2015 so he didn't get to see it. One way I Judge a movie is how many times I'll watch it on cable. Whenever this is on I watch it! It's far better than most of the stuff that's on. The first time I saw it I was so impressed with it that I wished I had seen it at a theater. I enjoyed reading all the trivia notes about this on IMBD and it looks like they really researched everything intolved in it. All the actors did a great job too especially JK Simmons and the girl who played Dana. ( I'm a senior citizen and can't remember her name right now and if I turn back to the page I'll lose this review!). Really everyone was terrific including the boys who played young Chris and Braxton. I wonder if there will be an upswing in autistic boys getting training in martial arts!
