The Orville: Twice in a Lifetime (2022)
Season 3, Episode 6
9/10
Chapters
7 July 2022
Another great episode from Season 3 of The Orville. A lot scenes hit you hard from left field that totally catch you off guard. Best episode that revolves around Gordo. A breath of fresh air not seeing him portrayed as "a child with no self control." The changing dynamics between Talla & John is a pleasant one for certain personal reasons, which I won't fully get into... On another note, this is the sixth episode in a row of this season, that rehashes upon episodes from the past two seasons. And I'm starting to get a little burnt out on it.

Living In The Storm
1 July 2022
I am gonna be honest, one of the things I have been pleased about this new season, is that the drama of Klyden & Topa have been nonexistent. Klyden's atrociousness demeanor, while instilled with the Moclan traditions, has always left me feeling indignant. And it angered me to see those conventions coming to attainment in Topa. With that being said, I was very pleased with this story. It is yet another emotional episode, that delves into gender indentification and gives the point-of-view from not only the transgenders side, but as well as societies many standpoints on the matter.

On another note, this episode has finally won me over on Adrianne Palicki character. This is the best performance of Cmdr. Grayson to date. From maternal role model to a stern and pugnacious first officer, Palicki really drives this episode.

Waking The Demon

This episode starts to substantiate the true novella to this series. Everything begins to finally move to a more enthralling pace. The calculate fight scenes by the antagonist are most galvanizing to say the least. And the different characters begin to come into their own.

This episode seems to be another one that "parrots" the novelty of the original series. It feels as if it were written for 10 year olds, which is kinda how it ends. And I couldn't help notice the dogs "licking" habits, as the cast members discernibly did! LMBAO.

Void & Null

I am officially over Kevin Hart. No contrast from any of his other presence. As good as an actor I've found Woody Harrelson to be through the years, this was just not a good calling for him. And as far as Kaley Cuoco goes, she gives her preponderant "Big Bang" performance, with an extra taste of devilment. The story fails to draw you in, as it is suggestive of Hart's Central Intelligence film. If you want a flick that is good to kill time, than by all means...

Old Friends Not Forgotten

I watched S01 just out of inquisitiveness of Cuoco's actual acting abilities since TBBT. And to be veracious, I was left halfhearted. Wasn't really gonna bother with S02, but with very few, new shows worth watching at the moment, I broke down and gave it a shot. And I'm kinda glad I did.

S02 is a lot better in my opinion than S01 was. It has much darker sense to it, as it delves into mental anguish and disturbance. The subtle dry humor is there to sufficiently irradiate the mood in each act of the episodes. Although, for me, Cassie's carbon copy seems so obvious from the beginning, yet the story is written well enough as to place reservation on that conviction several times.

Kinda has a vibe of a British version of Stranger Things. Just started 3rd episode and it hasn't completely pulled me in. As the episodes seems redundant so far. (Plus, I've been txting my hot neighbor chick through the last two episodes.... Lol)

Although it has a few funny moments, it's not so much as a comedy as it is lead on to be. But it definitely hits home when it comes to white privilege, police bias and racism. A re-wake up call to how the world really is when $#! T goes down with mix races.

Although this episode was slow paced, it was very emotionally charged. So if you're a total empath as I, best to have a box of tissues on hand. With that being said, it was a good episode to say the least and I can't wait for S03E02!

Light Me Up

Been waiting since the season 1 finale to see if this show would be renewed. Happy to find thatthe answer is yes. It reminds me of the dry humor of popular shows like The Office and 30 Rock, which I never really got into, but this show drew me in from day 1.

It's not hilariously funny, but it does give me a good laugh once or twice each episode. The chemistry between the entire cast is great and I love the "relationship" between Jack and Sadie, who seem to be the only two characters who have a firm grip on reality while putting up with everyone else, who seems to have the mentality of elementary grade kids at times.

Can't wait for season 2!!!

Two episodes in and already what I had feared it to be (so far.) Yet another Filoni-type bantha fodder of the hero protecting a child. This paradigm is so old and burnt out.

I still enjoyed the second episode, even though the princess got on my nerves just like Omega in the Bad Batch series.

Nothing too exciting, yet not a total failure so far. But only four episodes in. Seems more like a failing nostalgia piece that bounces back n forth between TOS & Disco.

Has definite potential and I'm hoping to see if it'll live up to it. Live long and prosper.... dorks. :P.

It only took watching the first episode to realize it was gonna be another show that is following the direction Dave Filoni has taken Star Wars shows. The big bad ass hero taking in and protecting a child. All while it has very little, if anything to do with the games. Yet another Halo live-action failure as far as I'm concerned.

High 'n' Dry

For me, it feels like I've been waiting for the show to get back to be somewhat decent. I feel very bored with this show now. Especially since Covid hit, it's become more of a dry dramedy. There's barely any calls during the episodes and it contiuely has more of a depressing feel to it. Even more than when Liz Tyler had her story arc.

Well then! The first episode of the season did not disappoint. Lil' overdone on the flames effect though, but that's irrelevant. This episode definitely delivered!

Emily Osment is too talented and worth more than to be on this show. Why do they still make characters for shows that are completely air-headed and just "don't get it?" It's so played out and irritating. I managed to get through the first episode, but that's all I could stand.

Dear Universal, Please... Just STOP

Anyone remember, way back when, these movies were actually about cars and racing? AND THEY WERE REALISTIC!!! Another movie that defies physics and realism even in the slightest from the very beginning. And yet again, changes the history of a character FOR THE SECOND TIME! Not to mention, they never found Mr. Nobody or even found out if he was still alive or dead. I'm so over this franchise.

Honestly... I've been waiting to see this movie forever because I have been wanting to see something new with Charlotte Best. But 1, I couldn't stay focused through this movie to get an actual account for the plot, which left me totally confused as to what I just watch by the end. Ok, she's "something special." But WTF IS SHE?!? A future Avenger? Soon-to-be member of the Legion of Doom?!

Warning: Spoilers
I know it's just a "kids show," but this is one of those episodes that really pissed me off! Two of the most powerful Jedi in the Order get pinned down under fallen bulk heads, on the bridge of their crashed cruiser, and neither of them can use the force to lift the debris off? Then at the end, two normal Clone Troopers jump aboard and lift the debris without any issues? WTF?!? C'mon maaaaaan. This is nothin' but a waste of a filler episode.

All of This Has Happened Before...And It Will Happen Again!!!
7 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So, this is looking to be just like The Clone Wars and Rebel series. First episode was okay. Not really a whole lot goin' on in my opinion. But it's already clear to me by the second episode, that it's just another SW animated series about the hero(es) taking on another kid who has no family, but has some undetermined mystery yet to be discovered. Probably won't see much of what we the fans, were expecting/hoping for as far as the rise of the rebellion against the Empire backstory & battles etc. So my expectations of remain as low as they were met with the prior animations.

My biggest question is at the end of The Clone Wars S2E10, Rex told "The Deserter" that he basically wouldn't turn him in. Yet in E02 of this show, the CF99 and other clones know exactly where to find him. Then, the clones at the security gate of the spaceport are seriously like "Hey you look like..." C'mon man. I know this is written with kids in mind but could you not keep making characters so blindly stupid!!! Another plot hole f_(k up by Filoni.

But whatever, Star Wars just hasn't been as shiny to me as it had since seeing IV, V & VI. Too many "creators" & execs involved.

Typical Lord of the Flies type flick where the white people go psycho, the people of color are the only people where derogatory words are spoken against and brutally beaten/killed. Things will never change. Totally disappointed but not surprised.

This is one of those B movies that is good for background noise whilst doin' something else. Especially if you have ADHD, you won't be able to stay focused past the first 10-15 mins.

If you actually give it a fair chance and a good watch, it's not that bad of a show. Hoping there's actually a season 2. Made me think of Dark Matter with the feel of Farscape without all the bloody puppets.

Still not sure what to think of this flick. Has elements of Riddick, Tremors and ends with John Carter at Jurassic World. I lost focus/interest more than once.
