The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
Enjoyable adaptation worth watching
Fall of the house of Usher is one of the newer, great original Netflix shows I have watched recently. This series has a well written plot with great character development throughout. An original portrayal of a dysfunctional family of greedy and selfish villains consuming any chance of happiness.
Even though you might know the storyline from the works of Edgar A. Poe, the show keeps you guessing what was coming next. All episodes were entertaining, but the dialog of last two episodes were amazing. I would recommended to any Poe fans who would be interested in watching a modern adaptation of a slow burn thriller/ horror show.
Justified: City Primeval (2023)
Willa character ... is his daughter Vivian Olyphant
The 'Willa' actress is Vivian Olyphant, Timothy's real daughter. But, she needs additional acting lessons if she is going to stay on a show of this quality. She is not close to dad Timothy's talent, just distracting to the show with her lack of experience. The 'flight out' on this episode may signal her departure, let's hope so.
I like the show so far and the rest of the casting talent is great. I like the direction of the plot and Timothy is outstanding as expected. Vivian Olyphant 'Willa' character isn't a reason to quit watching, you gave your daughter a chance Timothy, now on with the show.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
A disaster ......
Should have stopped watching this mess after first 10 minutes but I watched to the boring meaningless end. I guess I waited for something of interest ... nope. Hoped to see a film worthy of Jamie Curtis ..... disappointing. I am a fan of time travel and sci-fi films this was awful.
Special effects were great but story was all over the place, no plot that could be followed. Film had a few moments of humor the martial arts choreographing was a disaster. Mostly contained about two hours of pointless, tasteless, plotless, disastrous idiocy.
Skip this for something better, glad I didn't see in a theater I would have walked out.
The Ark (2023)
3 episodes is enough for me
I like to give a review after 3 episodes. After 3 episodes I've had enough. First, the acting is over animated, over dramatized and not as not as good as I expected, for in any character. The Alicia character is so annoying, just a chatty intellectual 'dingbat' very hard to get past. Then the blonde that tried to sneak a shower, is that the best the writers could do? I am a big fan of sci-fi space shows, but very little 'outer space' in this show. The show storyline is poorly written with 'filler' character development, that results in an uninteresting crew of teenage drama chaos, that overshadows the show.
Crimes of the Future (2022)
I like the 'way out there' this isn't it, this was awful
I like movies that are different, interesting and intriguing. This was me of the worst movies I have ever seen, Viggo what were you thinking when you took this role, what a disappointment.
The Terminal List (2022)
Great show, but lighting was annoying.
Watched over Independence Day weekend. Liked the plot, casting and storyline. The night scenes were almost unwatchable, even the daylight outdoor scenes were too dark. Hope this will improve next season, great show.
61st Street (2022)
I watched to see Courtney Vance, disappointed.
Watched two episodes completely, a very poorly written show. I realize it's a police fictional drama, but it's just ridiculous and unwatchable. I loved 'The Wire' show and trailers for this show led me to believe it would be similar.....NO! Please, Mr. Vance find a show worthy of your talent.
Good Sam (2022)
Really awful, disappointing
Watched two full episodes to give it a chance. Was looking forward to watching Jason Issacs, but what a disappointment. Another 'bomb' on CBS, disappointed.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
Disappointing too political
I watched all the episodes before reviewing. It was more of a whiny agenda driven drama, very little action. Final episode contained a speech from the Falcon that was Anti-American, almost socialist, it was a lecture, no opposing views offered. Writers are so overtaken by their agendas, they are not objective or tolerant enough to include a balanced opinion. Even Winter Soldier smirked during the speech, surprisingly it was left in the final cut.
Tenet (2020)
Lead actor cannot act, but still a great movie!
Watched it twice enjoyed it, the plot was exceptional, what you expect from Nolan. John Washington sadly doesn't have his fathers remarkable acting talent, which was a distraction the entire movie. If the lead actor been someone talented as in Inception, Memento or Interstellar, it would easily be a 10.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
Where are the consultants ?
I realize special groups have a need to be pandered to, but I still watched for a while looking for good content . When I tuned out was when Liv Tyler's character argued with Rob Lowe's character at an emergency call - who should be in charge of the scene as a man was dying right in front of them! Yikes what a disaster.
