Somebody Waiting (1972)
A reminder of past mistakes
This film documents the barbaric treatment of mentally and physically disabled children at the Developmental Center in Sonoma, CA. It was made at a time when treatment was greatly improving, and wraps up in a very positive fashion. But the early moments of the film are especially hard to watch, as it shows child after child (some only a year or so old) in sickly states of life. These children are skin and bones, and spend every waking hour in minuscule cribs. The narration is dark and blunt, but powerful. School libraries might be the only place to view this, unless you are involved with the modern day Sonoma Devlopmental Center (which is a wonderful place).
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
Loomis for president!
If you're only going to see one movie all year, see Halloween 5! What a film! I mean, come on, what could be better than an hour and a half chock full of Mr. D. Pleasance! And how about the scene where Michael drives the police car? What brilliance! But what really makes this movie unforgetable, is the final battle scene between Loomis and Michael. Whoever came up with the idea for Loomis to beat Michael for several minutes with a 2x4 should have won the Nobel Prize. And what genius to have Loomis stabbed and thrown off a balcony just minutes before! I dont know where he gets the energy, but Dr. Loomis is the most powerful character in any movie I've ever seen!
So hey, I dont want no Al Pacino, I dont want no Marlon Brando, JUST GIVE ME MY DR. LOOMIS AND IM JUST FINE!!!
Naked Lunch (1991)
The absolute worst of the worst.
This is far and away the worst movie I have ever seen, and I am extremely open minded about film.
After renting Naked Lunch, I expected a mind boggling horror movie containing all sorts of perplexing twists. Unfortunatley, it had all that and more.
This movie makes absolutely no sense and cannot be followed on any level. I dont care whether you think the main character is hallucinating or not, it does not make sense. And Im not talking of that "no sense" thing like a Beck song, Im talking about just plain bad.
Please dont ever rent this movie, it will just waste time you could be using in some other useless facet of life. In fact, I cant think of anything more useless than watching this movie.
Killjoy (2000)
This movie should be burned at the stake.
How did Killjoy ever get funded in the first place? I cant fathom who would allow this movie to be made. Full Moon productions is always bad, but this was low. Bad acting, ludicrous plot, haggard props, and one ugly clown to boot. It's worth watching just to understand how terrible it really is. Damn my roommate for renting it. There went 90 minutes of my life which I'll never have back.
Going Overboard (1989)
I guess he had to start somewhere.
This movie truly sucks. Me and a bunch of buddies rented it a few years ago in hope that it would be something like Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore. But its not, it's just garbage. You can't fault Sandler for it because everybody's gotta do their first starring role somewhere right? The only reason worth watching this harendous flick is to see Billy Zane make a fool of himself playing the god of the sea. Other than that, dont waste your money.
Zombi 2 (1979)
The worst movie ever made.
If you want to see a classic zombie movie, then don't rent this one. Zombie contains none of the qualities of other similar flicks. Sparse gore, and an absurd plot even for horror. It's not even borderline exciting. Maybe it's worth seeing just to appreciate how bad it really is. Again, the worst movie ever made.
