Dear Evan Hansen (2021)
Very moving work, provides a very in-touch perspective to mental health as an adolescent
Dear Evan Hansen is a classic at my house. My fiancé never hesitates to blast the soundtrack while we're driving, and no Sunday goes well unless it starts with Sincerely Me. To be honest, I didn't expect much movement in myself when I watched this film. I knew the songs were good. I knew the story vaguely. What I didn't know? The power of each song, moving the thoughts and ideas of the characters straight into my soul. I walked out of the movie feeling many things, but the one that stood out the most to me was understanding. This story is incredibly in touch. I was in high school not too long ago, and this really did capture the feelings and environment that I experienced myself. Mental health was very up front and visible in this movie, and it's hard to ignore the parallels to real life.
The understanding I left with happens to have two sides. The former being the first, and the second being the following:
Every single character was real, and all of them were right. Some characters found more fault and ethical questionability than others, but I found it incredibly hard to take sides. Each and every character had a story, and when considering this, it's easy to understand the actions of every one. I loved seeing this film, and feel like I left with a renewed perspective of the importance of kindness, honesty, and integrity.
Naturally, the movie wasn't perfect. There were some minor things that I had a bit of trouble getting past, but none great enough to distract me from the meaning of the story, and the plight each character fought to overcome.
That said, I still recommend this to anyone who is willing to see it. I think there is something that everyone can take from this film, and I hope that many more people can take something away for themselves.
Gekijô-ban Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Ressha-hen (2020)
Beautiful
This movie is truly a masterpiece. In the end, I found myself moved so far as to reconsider some of my own core principles and thought processes in life. The concepts and meanings in this movie are truly thought-provoking, and it is executed beautifully. The storytelling allows for a perfect mixture of light-hearted and heavier-set scenes.
This story is captivating beyond the words I have to describe it. If I had to choose one word to describe it as closely as possible it would be this: beautiful.
Even this falls short of the feeling I wish to convey, and I can't recommend it enough.

Classic
This is an absolute classic. There is literally nothing wrong with this.
