Agent Kelly (2020)
Not Good
You need more than shaky cam and overly dramatic mood music to make a decent movie. You also need scenes and dialogue that let's the viewer figure thing out what's going on rather than have the characters spell it out to each other in their conversations. OTOH, when the scenes mostly just show a woman walking around aimlessly (with loud mood music) I suppose you need to let the audience know what's going on somehow.
This movie seems devoid of anything more than the most basic story telling craft.
If this truly is an experimental film, then the result of the experiment is that this is not a good way to make a film.
The 2nd (2020)
A really poor movie
Too much wrong with this movie to list and I'm sure other reviewers have explained some of the problems. So why does it have even five stars for a rating? Somehow there are 751 10 star reviews out of about 2300 total reviews. Way more than any other category. Always check the review totals before relying on the star rating. The rating scheme can be gamed on movies with fewer ratings.
Rogue Warfare (2019)
I can't believe I watched the whole thing ... but I did.
I was looking for a brainless action film, and I sure found one.
Brainless script.
Brainless terrorist dialogue - that went on way too long.
I think the head terrorist's accent sounded more Spanish than anything else.
I think the movie was created mostly as a way to support squib manufacturers.
Oh ... and they had the nerve to set up the ending to lead into a sequel. Why would anyone watch a sequel to something this bad? Well, perhaps to see if they learned how to make a halfway decent movie in the meantime.
Oh, last point. All but one of the 10 star reviews were given in Oct. 2019. Clearly someone was working hard to try to get the rating up. The space between 10 star and 3 star reviews is almost completely empty.
Treasure (2017)
I shouldn't have like it
Seriously, a lot of the acting is wooden and ranges from competent to poor. The dialogue is often unnatural and cliche'. The actor's pulled punches in a fight scene and the contrived resolution of the resulting confrontation were both laughably bad. And the story itself and plot devices were mostly cliche' and predictable. Characters evolved too quickly and without enough justification. But I still found myself wiping a tear from my eye at times. Go figure.
I could make more criticisms if I were of a mind. And a person could reasonably rate this movie at 3 or 4 stars based on the overall quality. But, I've turned off movies that were crafted far better than this one because they failed to make me care even a little bit about what was happening. Somehow, this movie made me care and the movie's many flaws somehow didn't spoil it for me. So I watched it through to the end with the help of a bit of tissue (while still noticing that the color correction and lighting of that final scene were kinda bad). If you can look past this movie's significant imperfections, it may be a worthwhile watch for you as well.
