Hostile Takedown (2005 Video)

Additional Crew For This Movie Glaringly Omitted
26 June 2006
It's incredible that no other crew beyond director, producers, and writers are mentioned, since so many contributed to getting this particularly ambitious production back on budget and schedule. In my case, I was brought in as unit production coordinator, and discovered some pretty loose line producing on the crew end and some confounding prima donna attitudes on the cast end. After I put my foot down, cast and crew stated coming to the set closer to their call times and learning their lines. I was effective early on with rehearsing the cast in solving the structureof scenes--overlooked by the production team before I arrived--so they made more logical sense and flowed smoothly. I was also involved in twelfth hour casting for a supporting role when the original player cast flaked out. And one slacking supporting player started getting his act together for real when we created a character to handle a good 7/8 of the four pages of lines per shooting day that he couldn't seem to grasp. Certain prima donna and divas didn't quite appreciate it at the time, but they came around and thanked me at the first screening.

When Thugs Cry (2003 Video)

Other Vital Crew Credited In Movie Not Mentioned Here
26 June 2006
Other crew credited at the tail of "When Thugs Cry" that's not profiled here include Mark F. Armstrong, associate production coordinator (paragraphs from the media kit I wrote can be found in the liner notes on the back of the DVD jewel case box). Besides writing the media kit, contributing substantially to media promotions, and also conducting paralegal research, reviewing paperwork, and revising the movie's business plan for the producers, I also ended up subsidizing catering and craft service and casting featured extras for the production. You can certainly tell the difference between the scenes shot on Super 16mm and digital video. But, it did end up as my very first professional film production credit.
