Velma (2023)
Not just insults the audience but the animators of the show as well.
Full disclosure I was 100% willing to defend this due to some absolutely disgusting stuff that was said about it online before we got our first look, then the trailers came out and my hopes dropped, then the show came out and the hate train is 100% deserve, it's absolutely cringe, the editing is terrible, pacing is awful, this show is also just flat out racist and sexist as well. And the show insults not just the audience, but also the animators on this show, who btw are the only ones that want this show to be good because there is a lot of effort on the animation and it shows. Mindy Kaling dropped the ball on this, and I don't think she deserves to helm any ips from this day forward, Velma in the show is the most unlikeable character in all of fiction.
Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)
Feels more like a bonus level than a next level.
Jumanji the next level has a really good story and some great moments. Like Welcome to the jungle, most of the jokes land extremely well, and the action was amazing. The villain wasn't bad, but he's not good either, I felt like they could've done the Villain a lot better. In this movie the rock intimidates Danny deVito very poorly, every time when the rock intimidates him, I was very annoyed. Also the third act started kinda poor but starts building up very well, I also thought the first and second acts was done amazing.
Conclusion: Jumanji the next level feels like more of a bonus level than a next level, but that doesn't mean it's not a good time, because man, I had a damn good time watching this.
Venom (2018)
Venom is the reason why you should ignore critics
When I review a movie I judge them based on my enjoyment of the film, when I review a comic book movie, I judge them based on my enjoyment and how true they are to there comic books. Spider-Man 3's Venom did not stay true to the comic book character, Topher Grace did a terrible job on portraying Eddie Brock, his acting was very poor and didn't even looked like Eddie Brock at all. And Venom was not venom in that movie. He didn't look like venom, he doesn't even sound like venom. So going into this film I was expecting for this film to make up for spider-man 3's venom, and it does make up for that. DO NOT believe the critics, because they don't know what they watch. The chemistry between Tom Hardy and Venom is amazing in this film, both have funny parts in this movie. People have a problem with the cgi in this film, personally, I liked the cgi, I loved how venom looked in this movie. And that's another thing I wanted to say about this movie is that venom is actually venom in this movie. He looked like venom, he sounded like venom, and he acted like he is venom from the comics. I thought the action in this movie was great, the same thing goes for the soundtrack of this movie. My biggest problem with this movie is the villain, he's probably one of the worst villains I've seen in Cinema history, his acting was very poor, he wasn't menacing at all, and he didn't even feel like a villain, he just felt like a generic character.
Conclusion: Venom stayed true to the comic book character, because Venom was Venom in this movie. Every time venom showed up I was having an amazing time, sure it has it's flaws, but it's still a fun time.
Sonic CD (1992)
A mixed bag in my opinion
Sonic CD has a great concept and can work in a 2D Sonic game, in terms of execution it's mixed. Sonic CD has a time traveling mechanic, where you find these signs that say future or past and if you go fast enough, you'll go into the future or past. Now that is a good concept, but it could've been executed better if the level design was better. The levels in the game are not designed for a speedy platformer, it's designed for Mario games, there's obstacles throughout the entire the level that stops you from going fast. The concept would've worked better in sonic 2. The bosses are just like all the bosses in the classic games, bland and boring. The past version of the zones are beautiful I love them, but the future versions are just disgusting to look at, they look like regular zones mixed with a bag of crap. The American version of the soundtrack is ok, but the japanese version of the soundtrack is extremely better. Sonic CD has some cool levels to introduce like stardust speedway, the atmosphere is pretty cool to look at, plus the level design becomes more tolerable once you progress throughout the game more. The time stones are not worth collecting in the game, all you get is a different cutscene at the end.
Conclusion: Sonic CD has a lot to like, it has a really cool concept, but in terms of execution, the game is just another version of sonic 1 but with a time travel mechanic, but it is still a fun time playing.
Ant-Man (2015)
The most underrated movie in the MCU
Ant-man has the charm, fun action, good writing, great CGI, comedic moments, well paced, and Paul Rudd as Ant-man is just great. The villain falls very short however, and I feel like they could have done better with the story. Still is extremely underrated.
Black Panther (2018)
Wakanda Forever
The movie has a very talented cast, amazing writing, good story, amazing villain. But the CGI in this movie is just awful, it really disgusts me, and the action is good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. Still a great movie.
Rank: B+
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Very fun, yet doesn't recapture elements from the first movie.
It still has the comedy, the cgi, and the action from its predecessor, but the movie doesn't really focus on the guardians, it mainly focuses on the villain, who was ok, there were some surprises but not a whole lot. Plus this movie introduces characters that are very uninteresting, and it would've been better off if they have 1 side villain, this movie has 2. But it still is a very fun movie.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
This puts a smile on my face.
This movie is epic, it's an experience, but it just didn't get a lot out of me. First of all, you have got to admire what the Russo brothers were going for with this, the directing of this film is flawless. The writing and the acting in this movie is just fantastic, in my opinion the best portrayal of this movie, is Robert Downy Jr. as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, he had the best part of the character development in this movie. But in a close second comes Josh Brolin as Thanos, and thanos is the definition of what a movie villain should be, he was menacing, his motivation is excellent, you don't know what he was going to do next, thanos just puts me on the edge of my seat, and the something that he actually has where a lot of other movie villains don't, is having an actual good purpose for what he is trying to achieve, I don't see that in most movie villains nowadays. The comedy is great in this movie, if it's a marvel movie, you are definitely going to laugh a whole lot. The cinematography is great, I could see what's happening throughout the entire movie. I liked the action, but there were times where the action didn't get a lot out of me, and those times felt like the action was bland, thankfully, it's not that many. There were certain aspects of the movie that bothered me, and one of them was hulk. He barely showed up in this movie, and I wanted a lot of hulk scenes in this film, and that really upsetted me off. There were very few characters in this movie that just felt like they had no purpose of being in this movie.
Conclusion: Avengers Infinity War is definitely an experience, but it didn't get a whole lot out of me and certain aspects of the movie just didn't feel right in my opinion. But, the movie has a lot of charm, and is definitely a fun time watching.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992)
This sequel breaks the speed of sound.
If I'm gonna be completely honest, this is my favorite video game of all time, the level design and platforming in this game is amazing, so is the soundtrack. The bosses are pretty good. Sega, do us a favor and make more 2D sonic games please.
Ghostbusters II (1989)
Disappointing, yet still fun.
The movie has some iconic scenes, has the comedy, and introduces some interesting things to the Ghostbusters lore, but the film tries to hard to recapture the love of the first ghostbusters and the chemistry doesn't work as well as in the original ghostbusters.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
The worst movie in the mcu
The only thing you need to know that the movie is so forgettable, the redeeming aspects are Chris Hemsworth and Tom hiddleston, they are really good in the movie, but everything else sucks, the plot is boring, the villain is crap, and the action is boring. This movie is a waste of my time.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Succeeds as an action/sci-fi movie, but doesn't as an avengers movie.
The Avengers was a massive success, at the time, it was marvel's most successful movie, but it's predecessor is not worthy of being an avengers film.
Like the 1st avengers film, all of these avengers are fantastic with the material they were given and the chemistry between is great. The comedy was pretty good, except for a certain something they did with the comedy in this film. The action in this movie was very good, I had a really fun time with it.
Now the cons, I wanted ultron to be good, since the trailers showed us that he could be one of the best villains in film in history, well in my words, however I was wrong, what they did with Ultron is insulting to the character and its fans, Ultron was used as comedic relief, it didn't even look like they even tried to make him an actual villain, he was not menacing, he had no motivation, he was just really a bland and flat out boring character. Personally I am not a fan of the story, to me the story is just forgettable. There were times in this movie where certain parts were just thrown in there.
Conclusion: Age of Ultron is an entertaining movie, but it falls a part when it comes to Ultron, choices in the movie, and the story. As an action or Sci Fi movie, it's good. But as a marvel movie, it barely succeeds.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
It fails because of the abomination known as the Last Jedi, but is way better than it.
TROS has a lot of entertaining moments, but the story in this film is a giant mess, it is just exposition dump, plus the chemistry between the heroes did not work at all, all they were doing was just arguing. The cgi was amazing, and all of the actors did very good with the material they were given. It's still fails though, and I'm not blaming it on Jar Jar Abrams at all, I put the blame square on Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
GOTTA GO FAST!!!!
Do I really need to address to backlash the first trailer got, sonic looked horrifying, but thank god they actually took the criticism and decide to redo the design. Was the movie good though? Well if you're not a sonic fan, you'll find this movie to be entertaining, but as a sonic fan, I thought this movie was amazing. And I'm gonna say this, from what I've seen from the movie is that I could tell that the filmmakers of this movie do not care or respect critics that are not a sonic fan, they actually respect the fans, I don't really see that from most video game movies, and I am very thankful for that. Most video game movies are trying to be too similar to the games and is telling the same story. That is not the case with Sonic, this movie is its own thing, it actually has a different story.
Ben Schwartz's performance as sonic is amazing, he had the same personality as sonic, hyper and energetic. There were times in this movie where sonic was having a mental breakdown over how lonely he was, and I really felt something from that. And I gotta say the Cgi with Sonic (not the character design) is very impressive, hell, all of the cgi was amazing.
Hands down the beat part of the movie is definitely Jim Carry as Dr. Robotnik. But he wasn't portraying robotnik in this movie, it's just Jim Carry playing as Jim Carry, but that is not a bad thing at all. He had a separate personality from Eggman in the games, but it was honestly more likable than eggman in the games.
I was expecting the human characters to not be good, but James Marsden's character, Tom, is honestly good in the movie. He had a lot of comedy, a lot of heart, but most importantly, the chemistry between Sonic and Tom, which is very impressive, there chemistry is very touching majority of the times, and the comedy is really great. Tiki Sumpter's character is not really important in this movie, she doesn't really show up a lot.
Let's talk about the flaws. The comedy in this movie was great for the most part, but there was a little bit of kid humor thrown into this movie, so it shortens it by a little bit, also there is more adult humor in this movie than I expected. Throughout the movie there were some pacing problems, but it wasn't that bad. There was some product placement in the movie, but I decided just to forget what it was since it's no big deal. My biggest problem with the movie is a few plot holes that's been really confusing me.
Conclusion: As a sonic fan, this movie really made me happy by giving me the sonic and robotnik I want. This is the perfect movie for families to enjoy, and I feel like a lot of movie goers will enjoy this. This is a good step in the right direction ever since detective Pikachu, the trend for good video game movies is starting to increase. This truly is the best video game movie, but that can just be the sonic fan in me saying that.
