I'm not an avid reader of fiction, and had never heard of this book. I was hooked with wanting to see this because of the cast that appeared in the original trailer, so one random night in Spring 2005 a friend of mine (ex- gf) invited me out to see this movie. I was excited because I am a fan of Zooey Deschanel, Mos Def, Martin Freeman, Sam Rockwell, John Malkovich, Thomas Lennon, and Stephen Fry. It was a great cast that was very underrated and up-and-coming. What I watched was not a good movie at all. Few laughs, no emotional chemistry, and just dry. It was a let down, but the casting was why I gave it 3/10. I'm still a huge fan of all the talent previously mentioned and believe they are some of the best on the silver screen. This movie, I don't recommend. Left me feeling a little less intelligent.
