Fall (2022)
Constant hyperbole ruins a decent idea and the vertigo inflicting shots
An almost obsessive defiance for the laws of physics, climbing logic and human limitations kept me distracted and alienated throughout. A consistent failure to provide some degree of climbing realism, both skill-wise and gear-wise, will inevitably keep the climbers' eyes among the audience rolled in exasperation. I wanted to scream for all the wrong reasons.
However, some shots and photography were jaw-dropping at times and this movie's saving graces.
Sadly, major plot twists had been telegraphed too early and dialogues felt cliché.
Nonetheless, it was far from a waste of time. Mostly a disappointment for what could have been. But I do reckon that such obvious almost conscious shortcomings might make the movie ideal for a fun movie night with your group, ripping on its most extravagant moments.
