The Beautiful Game (2024)

Refreshing story

Going in this movie I did not know about the Homeless World Cup at all. Never heard from it so I was surprised when I Googled it and found out it was a real thing. It was on my watchlist because I'm a huge fan of Bill Nighy to be honest.

The chemistry of that man holds the film together with Michael Ward. Loved every minute of it. Refreshing story, a feel good story that must be inspiring many soccer players out there. Reminded me a bit of Ted Lasso. And left me teary and I'm not even a soccer fan.

Great story, touching and emotional, I laughed and cried and was on the tip of my seat during the games. Very wholesome perfectly decent film.

Elvis (2022)

Typical Baz, Butler shines!

Great performance of the cast, especially Austin Butler. For a young man to give life to this great performer. Kudos for him.

The quick pace of the movie in the beginning is typical to the director but did not fit well to this story to be honest. The last hour of the movie was better than the first half.. Learned a lot during this movie that I did not know about. So that's a plus.

But what always bothers me with a biopic is that they want to make money of a death somebody. Especially when his life was so used up by a lot of people apparently... shameful too be honest.. but that's the world we live in I suppose?

Ambulance (2022)

UN-Bay-lievable

I'm not sure where to begin.

Camera shots from left to right trying to pull off god knows what. Drone shots that have no point and lead to nowhere... the edit of this film was a complete disaster, shots being reused probably because there was not enough footage... I mean I could go on about the mistakes.. Let alone the storyline, incredibility,... This film was a two hours waste of time, resources, anything... How many times can a guy fly through glass?? At least the explosions where kept to a minimum. Hard to believe that Gyllenhaal wanted to part of this, I mean I like his previous work. But this... You lost me there man.

The only thing I was worried about was if the dog was ok.
