High & Dry (2018)
Marc Wootton's new show is a modern classic
Such a shame that some of the reviews left for this show have been left by people who admit that they didn't even stay for first half of episode 1. As well as being devilishly funny, High and Dry rewards continued viewing as the characters develop and your take on them shifts as it might do in real life. This is a funny, intelligent and enjoyable show that deserves to be rewarded with a 2nd series Brett Sullivan should be up there with David Brent, Jill Tyrell and Basil Fawlty if TV comedy history gets it right.
Toryboy the Movie (2010)
It may be about politics but this one's no humbug!
John Walsh is clearly a film maker on the rise as he presents this satirical expose of the state of British politics and even takes a starring role himself as he stands for election as an MP. Although reasons for his switch from being a traditional labour supporter are not so clear, his passion and enthusiasm wins us round and the story he unveils is one that Francis Urqhart would be proud of. The style is Spurlock meets Broomfield but this feels more authentic as Walsh completely throws himself into his mission.Part comic, part social justice and all heart. Who knew that a film about politics could be so entertaining!
