Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Great
Wow! Filled with emotion and nostalgia. Strong start, plenty of Spidey references. Strange was a cool welcome back. Brilliant third act. Ending was powerful, very moving. Best MCU web crawler adaptation.
Tenet (2020)
Highly fascinating and intriguing
The movie opens brilliantly (highly intense), right into the story. The movie does have a dense plot, which requires a lot of concentration to grasp but boasts visually stunning action that doesn't fail to blow your mind.
The concept of inversion is unique and fascinating and sets this apart from most other time related movies out there, simply due to its ability to deal with time effectively and believably. However, fully understanding the ideas of temporal pincers and inversion takes a bit of time and sometimes the film can be a little inaccessible. This is especially so, during the climax where certain details are hard to make out but the general idea would be clear if you're paying attention. Unlike what many say, there is an emotional punch to this movie as well. Side characters do a very good job. However, the protagonist lacks a bit of depth. The villian works for what the plot is about. And the score for this movie is absolutely brilliant, Mr Goransson nailed it.
Dialogue at times can be hard to hear at times but for the most part it's fine. Repeated viewings are encouraged to watch the movie from the perspective of different characters. The story becomes much clearer and the emotional impact is far greater.
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
No spoiler balanced review
I think the movie takes it time to flesh out it's characters which means it's gonna be slow paced, paperwork and all that stuff but I think that's a good choice coz we need characters to care for. When the car stuff begins, the movie def serves to please audiences who love cars but also makes the right choice by making the path to success full of obstacles that characters need to think their way out. Also there's great character development for Miles due to his decision in the race.
My gripes are minor, I wish we saw more of Shelby's past as a car racer.. And there was this emotional scene in the movie that could've taken more time coz I felt it was a bit fast. But like I said, minor gripes, this can be regarded as a masterpiece.
Lightning (2020)
Decent
There are both good and bad elements of the film but it could have been done better. The plot, although heavily inspired by the flash, seems good and some particular scenes were done well, especially the ending. However, it falls short when it comes to the antagonist's motivation and the pacing of the film. Such a film needs a faster pace and better choreography with the fight scenes. Overall, 7/10.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
Why do critics hate this? It's quite good.
Personally this movie was brilliant and even though it was quite long and could be shortened, I was completely invested in the story and did not even notice time passing by.
Firstly, people complain about the convoluted plot but I find that an advantage to the movie. Pirates are known to be selfish and the constant betrayal and hard to follow plot is actually accurate to how pirates behave. And in the end, everything concludes with the amazing 30 minute battle sequence and Captain Jack sparrow's master plan. All characters are played really well especially Jack Sparrow, Beckett and Davy Jones. There are so many moments where the movie touches you emotionally.
This film has the mix of both character and plot and is overall, a highly entertaining film.
Punyakoti (2019)
Good movie
While the first half of the movie was slow paced and not too interesting, the second half made up for it. The movie had impressive background music and good messages so overall I would give a 7. My only complaint would be that the pacing of the film was a bit too slow but otherwise great effort!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Amazing
This was an amazing representation of the book and really captures the comedy and the fantasy. Overall well done!
