The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008)
Just...Wow.
I cannot recommend this movie enough. It isn't going to be an upbeat, feel good movie, but it is certainly one worth watching. I can't even describe in words how wonderful this film is, but wow... it left me feeling things for weeks after watching it for the first time.
Brigsby Bear (2017)
Absolutely Loved This
This was one of those movies where it ended and I just felt...good.
Overall - loved this and definitely recommend. Agree that the less you know going in, the better it will probably be for you. As someone who was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's/00's, this film had aspects that made me super nostalgic and I loved that about it!
I love Kyle Mooney in pretty much everything he does and this was just an absolutely well done work of art by him and the rest of the team that worked on it. He plays James in such a lovable way... and while quite a few of the reviews state that the other characters played into his childlike ways or indulged him too much, I think they are missing the point. His biological parents try to rid any bit of Brigsby from his life to help him start over and it isn't until they realize that his creation of the Brigsby movie IS his way of closing one chapter and opening the next that they encourage him to finish the film.
Yes, I Do (2018)
Meh.. Definitely Won't Watch Again
This was not one of Hallmark's finest. The movie begins with her leaving him at the altar twice and then she basically calls off the third and he's still head over heels with her... man, leave this woman already! Jessica Lowndes is the only redeemable part of this film because she plays the villain so well. I haven't finished it yet (though I'm sure we all know how it will end) but honestly both women are so manipulative that all I find myself rooting for is this guy to leave them both and start over elsewhere.
